Honestly even now I'm trying to put together an ideal team against her. Not just gameplay wise but symbolic too. Like what other characters besides the require 3 (4 if you recruited Milana before this) would actually react to this whole scene, and the only ones I've seen so far are Nil, Dr. Corque, Nisha, and Francesca.
There's a kind of mad joy in this phase's theme. I almost wish the fight lasted longer so I could just bask in it, in the chaos of its movements matched so well to the music. Almost. It hits HARD.
Indeed😂 but the second part goes straight Star Ocean Epic!!!!! 😂 I love that part so much that I intentionally don't finish the battle until the second part is over 😅😅😅😅
idk this song, background and and fight make me remember of Riou and Jowy from Suikoden 2 this game was truly a love letter for JRPG enthusiasts thank you, Murayama-sensei, R.I.P.
This theme made me think about the flower that I failed to keep alive as a kid. (If the scadu avatar had dialogue) Go away, leave me alone. Don't take away my light. The sun, it's so, beautiful.
The Scadutree Avatar is not fighting He Who Walks Alongside Flame out of desperation. Not as an attempt to defend itself or survive. It is fighting him out of resentment. Deep-seated hatred. For he had abandoned it.
@@Iamverykarpy Right? This would have more impact if it was his exclusive theme instead of playing on other 3 bosses. Besides, BAYLE had his own theme and he's not even a Shadow Remembrance boss and it was literally a heroic banger why couldn't Gaius be the same?
I wonder why they made the music for this phase so melancholic and sad... I love it but I still wonder, because this fight has no real emotional connection to the story. But the music is so beautiful that it stuck with me.
The DLC has a lot of cut content, they didn’t have time to do a lot. Some things hint at the sad history of this tree, but we have very little information, so it doesn't work. Sadly.
The Avatar state and energy tells it all. By phase 3 it is all but spending it's very life energy fighting us, literally fighting on it's last leg either to kill us or to just survive as the last of the Scadutree Avatars
There’s implication that he’s a guardian of sorts, defending this dying and frail tree, and irony in him being a sunflower, something associated with joy and life. He’s wilted, twisted, and dark. And I think in a weakened state, defending his tree, and Miquellas broken rune until the end. Read between the lines of FromSoft games.
@@deep-abyss2116 Also worth mentioning that the people of the Shadow lands don't seem to take to kindly to the Erdtree, given that there is no sign of Erdtree burial. Instead, they have opted for ghostflame burial since you can see ghostflame all over the land of shadows. Implying that the Scadutree has kinda been left without any nourishment.
@@Artem-eu3uv This isn't true. In the month or so since the DLC's release, very little besides alternatives to existing content have been found, and there's no hint as to the Scadutree having some other, distinct purpose you so believe it has. Everything that it is is in the game. Multiple item descriptions--which could've easily enlightened us as to the purpose of the tree--intentionally chose to reinforce this concept, rather than recontextualize it. From Software is known to right intentionally vague stories, yet whenever a plot point is left vague, people always jump to the conclusion that it was somehow a mistake, and not an intended artistic expression of the developers. These are games lauded for their environmental storytelling, and here you are telling a genuinely curious person that there is nothing to understand, because it's literally unfinished. That is a bad answer to a very good question. I'll write my own response as a separate comment, because I don't want to drag down a genuinely good question with complaining about the state of media analysis--god help me.
I got to phase 3 first time and beat it. I died multiple times on 1st and 2nd and fuuuu there it is....a third. The explosions almost got me, there is one that it explodes like 3 or 4 times and you think its done...got lucky
This Theme was a Banger ! Spoiler: Especially that it was the....i think 3rd Boss Fight in a Row. I "had" to use the Healing Items obtained in the Factory :D
Apparently she, Markus, and the other revenant guy all used to be in a love triangle. After she died Markus wanted to let her rest in peace while the other guy raised her as a revenant
