Great video, my dealership quoted me $1100 to change the thermostat out. I did it for about $180, plus changed out the ect sensor. Was a pain but got it done.
No. I always let the vehicle run for about 10 minutes and shut it off and finish topping it off after it sets for a little bit. Never had any air problems doing it like that.
Fantastic job, great first RU-vid video. Way more informative than professional mechanics. I would’ve wasted so much time had I followed the other videos I watched.
Thank you for your video! You just saved me 1,500 dollars from taking it to Ken Garff in American Fork Utah. I paid 135.00 for the stat and did it myself. Working Great!!
Thanks for sharing your insight. I have to do this for my truck and I can’t thank you enough. It’s people like you who help the community out with stuff like this. I will try and contribute some or my repairs as well in return. For us DIY dads/mechanics.
Thank very much. The way I did it... I put it in just like you, but then I twisted down towards the left, and it slid right in. I had a hard time with first screw though. But, managed. Got the temp sensor at the same time... since I was there already.
Thank you for posting this! The video really helped me a lot. I replaced the thermostat and coolant temperature sensor at the same time on my V6 2018 Colorado WT.
Excellent video, sir. It helped me out a lot. How did you flush the coolant? I dropped the dang ol' coolant temp sensor into the hole where the thermostat goes into. Now I gotta find a way to get it out.
Damn. I took my wheel off and everything. I even took a screw out and I lost it somewhere and thought to myself “oh I don’t need it, I have the replacement thermostat here with the screws” and then came across this video !!!!!!! Thank you sir, smh I should have watched this first before doing anything
Great video, same thing is happening with my fan, it stays on after I turn off my truck. Your video is clear and concise, thank you. It really does help me out.
Great video. My fan stays on high after I shut it off and I have no temp and a check engine light. Your video is spot on. It’s amazing how dealers can rip you off. Even if you are not a mech you can get tools from home depot or Lowe’s and save hundreds just by watching a video.
I just have one question once you put the new thermostat does the fan turns off automatically I’ve been having trouble on my GMC canyon 2018 and honestly I thought we had to re-program it but it came back and turns out it was a thermostat
