Yellow rattle seeds used in your wildflower area will work to compete and weaken the grass and over time allow native wildflowers to establish and flourish without the stronger grass.😊

I was surprised to hear you were planting it! Cow parsnip grows alongside our highways here in Lincoln County Oregon. People here considers it a weed and don't like it in their pastors. If they have a milk cow it gives the milk a flavor like the plant.
I live in southern California and I plant sweet peas every year in my front yard. I put a trellis on my fence and enjoy the flowers every year. I was so excited to see you plant them. You guys just bring so much magic to the homestead. Love the sweet peas. They were always my mother’s favorite flower, they do smell so wonderful. Never thought to grow them in a container, thanks for the idea. I will be trying it this next Spring. We always planted ours on Good Friday morning.

My husband & I r visited by Scotland from the US & while beach combing I was thrilled to identify a groatie buckie on a beach on the Isle of Iona. No hag stones but green Iona marble. ( Our tour guide was surprised I knew what a groatie buckie was! ) Love your beautiful country!
You've got so many projects going on at the same time: Alex' bedroom, the craft room, the kitchen renovation, the garden beds, and of course, mudlarking as well as your normal house jobs. In the uk there is a conservation project that comes to your fields and they will advise you on what to grow, they also give you different wildflowers to grow
