If you are gluing just the back of the fabric where the staples would go, that could work. The fabric might loosen as you stitch, so when you completely finish your project, it might need more glue on the back. If you try it that way, be sure to let me know how it worked out for you!
You absolutely can do it that way too! When you attach your fabric to the canvas, you’ll just want to take extra care as you staple the fabric on. Sometimes things will stretch weird and so you just need to work with that. It can be done though!!
Always. So many options. Some fabric is a little too thin to take the weight of the bigger beads. Also, the fabric can bunch with many stitches. This technique keeps everything in place.

This is a great question! Ok, so when you are using 2 colors, bring your second color up through the bead and hold the tail of the thread with the 1st color thread. You might need to just be aware of your tension at first because you’re just holding it in place, but it will feel secure once you get started. I hope that helps!
Love these beads. Thanks for the tutorial. I have a question about the weaving part of the process when you're using 2 different colors. With the first way (using 1 color), after creating your base threads, you were able to just start doing your weaving coming out of the top because the thread was already secured to the base threads. With the second way using 2 colors, I'm guessing you bring the second color up through the hole to start at the top of the bead, but do we need to secure it in some way to the base threads before starting the weaving? At the end when we're tying off, will there be 4 threads to tie together (2 from the base threads, 1 tail from the second color, and the other end of the second color (the working end) or does the working end get passed back through the bead? Love this type of work, making your own beads so to speak. Thanks again!
Loved all your videos, lessons and books! Can't wait for your latest book who should be in the post very soon (it takes some times to arrive here but really looking forward to it). I am actually doing a hoop inspired by one of your videos, right now. So thank you so much for your teaching and inspiration . 🤩👍
I love Nicole. She is so talented and has taught me so much. One disappointment is tha I can only find John Beads in a few stlyes. Or in Canada. Wish there was a retail place for US customers. 😔😔
Thank you so much Maryanne! I’m in the US too and am able to find John Bead at Michael’s and JoAnn…some stores stock better than others. I hope you’re able to find what you are looking for!!
This is a really cool way to start a project. I'm not familiar with starting peyote this way. I can't wait to try it 🤓 thank you Big hugs from Nova Scotia 🐿️
