Considering this video is only 3 months old, I'll set the record straight on Vintage Speedsters. Vintage Motorcars is not Vintage Speedsters as Vintage Speedsters went bankrupt after purchasing it from the original owner, Kirk Duncan. The persons who bought Vintage Speedsters from Kirk moved everything to Arizona then went out of business. Greg Leach rehired all of Kirk's former employees and has moved into the same building Kirk Duncan was in (In Hawaiian Gardens Ca.)for the last 40 years up until his retirement. Greg Leach is the owner and its called Vintage Motorcars. It's the entire crew who worked for Kirk and are now employed by Greg. The quality is even better than Kirk put out which was already excellent. Greg was affiliated with Kirk through the purchase of Vintage Spyder's back in around 1990 when Greg actually worked for Kirk at the original Vintage Speedsters. The new cars come with a 2332cc motor. Greg and his motor builder have the perfect combination of reliability and performance with the motor and transmission on the most recent cars. Greg knows what works and what does not when it comes to these cars. This includes everything down to the fuel pump, disc brakes, etc. If you want the best hand built replica 356 Speedster or 356 Coupe, call Vintage Motorcars. They do 550 Spyder replicas as well.
@randallr.p.mcmurphy863 I'm not sure who your comment is intended for, but you don't have the facts straight. Kirk did not sell "the business" he only sold the "assets" (equipment) to Justin Davidson in Arizona. Justin moved the equipment to Arizona and began calling his business Vintage Speedsters, but did not actually have the rights to the name. Eventually, Justin handed the company over to Mathew Tearink and Mathew is the one who filed for bankruptcy after taking deposits from people who thought they were dealing with the original Vintage Speedsters company. Greg Leach leased the old location of Vintage Speedsters in Hawaiian Gardens and eventually purchased it. He did not hire "all of Kirk's former employees" he hired some of the builders, I believe it was 5 of them. None of those builders are still working for Greg!
@@VANATIC99 Odd. The EMPI interview says otherwise. He states he hired all of Kirk's old staff in the interview on You-tube when Empi did the shop tour. All that matters is its all his now, he is doing it right, and the customer feedback shows it. Have a great day.
I have seen the video of the Christmas present that woman in the background, is she Irish and German or is she just Irish?? Descendant. I don't know why, but I have spirit discernment. And I don't know, I'm just curious. I don't mean no harm. Please don't be offended, I'm just curious because I have the gift of spiritual discernment..
There is no specific place to purchase the vintage suitcases I typically put on my Speedsters. I just find them on Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, eBay and in second hand stores.
I wonder why the VW 4 bolt wheels see such widespread use. The wide five wheels are accurate and enhance the look of the car. Love the red paint job here.
Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!! (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN & BEFVO laws)
Im building a replica speedster and I don’t know how to mount the door handles, do you have some pictures of the handles on your car and from inside the door?
Troy, what's the difference between a widebody and a super-widebody? Love that car, but it's just too wide at the front for me. With bumpers and wide 15" black wheels, it would be my perfect spec.
Troy, you're a guru... is there anyone out there who can do a car with a superwide rear and barely flared front? I think all these cars are built in one moulding. I want to get an Outlaw in 2024. Will buy your windows too.
The Vintage Speedster flared cars that you see in my different RU-vid videos are either the Widebody version, which has mild flares on the front and rear, or the Super Widebody version, which has very wide rear flares and a mild front flare and they are two different molds. As far as I know there are currently no other flared cars being built currently in the United States and they are only available from Vintage Motorcars of California who owns the molds. The molds used to be owned by Vintage Speedsters prior to 2018, but Vintage Motorcars acquired them when Vintage Speedsters was sold and moved to Arizona. Long ago Classic Motor Carriages (CMC) and Fiberfab sold widebody kits, but those flares were very different if you look closely at them. To me they look like someone just attached flares to a traditional style Speedster, they don't flow with the shape of the body. Both of those companies have been out of business for many years and I never buy CMC or Fiberfab cars. There is a company in Turkey who has flared Speedster molds and there may be one in Mexico as well. Troy
