Whenever I play standing up, one of the hardest things to do is to not bunch up my chin. I think it's because I struggle with feeling like the Sax is secure in my mouth (maybe this is the problem, I'm still unsure.)
I once forgot my ligature on a band trip and the band teacher was not happy, I had to just tape my reed on. It worked I guess, but I’ve always made sure my ligature is in my case.
It’s just the style of the ligature. Mine is an ishimori ligature which happens to have the bolts up. Not sure how it affects the sound to be honest. But I do love the response I get from that ligature. 👍🏼
