My name is akihiko. I created this channel to record my own works and the techniques of plastic model making that I learned abroad. I'm also thinking about introducing the tools and techniques for making scale models that I have learned.
I was originally a character modeler, and my motto is to build plastic models as loosely as I like, which is the style of young Europeans these days. I'm Japanese, but I spend half my life overseas so I'm not influenced by Japanese trends and customs. I have a different mindset from those Japanese!

I am watching you build with great interest. Round 13:09 of your video, you mask the model to paint the USAAF “star and bar” aircraft insignia, selecting dark sea blue. However, the U.S. military durung much of the campaign used Insignia Blue (a gloss paint) for the identification symbol, which is noticeably darker than dark sea blue (which one can find in either a gloss and a flat, or non-specular paint); this latter was part of the War Department’s tri-colour U.S. Navy Pacific Theatre of Operation (PTO) camouflage paint scheme of the summer of round 1943, along with Intermediate Blue (flat) and Insignia white (also gloss). However, I invariably apply flat white on aircraft models because gloss paint, being of thicker consistency. can manifest a tendency to “orange-peel”: a heavier pigment as it dries can do so unevenly, causing the outer layer to wrinkle as it loses volume. After the flat white has cured completely, I would go over it with several fine applications of a gloss clear, in each step giving but a thin layer.

Excellent, Hikodo! I believe the Trumpeter call-out for the wheel well colors is wrong. It should be yellow zinc chromate, which Tamiya XF-4 is an excellent match. The green-ish color is definitely incorrect. Overall though, excellent build and congratulations!
