Atom Rush is the Poet Laureate of Brookfield CT and an established spoken word artist. He is the author of two poetry books, “Obscene” and “Trench Madness”, and two spoken word/music fusion albums, “Atom Rush” and “Generator”. His poetry is the unique expression of words with substance and style, delivered in a thoughtful and direct way which is greatly influenced by Jack Kerouac and poet Walt Whitman.
Atom has performed in NY and CT at The Knitting Factory, Acoustic Café, River Outpost Brewing Company, Café nine, Lucy’s Lounge, Le Poisson Rouge, Yorktown Grille, and Joe’s Pub and currently performs regularly in the Danbury, Long Beach (NY) and Peekskill (NY) area. Recently, he performed with bass guitar legend Bakithi Kumalo at the Arts on the Plaza 2021 in Long Beach NY. The formation of the Atom family, a spoken word tribe, began in 2015, which pushes the boundaries of jazz, rock, and slam poetry.
