Does the electric fuel pump push the fuel through the mechanical fuel pump to the carburetor so the carburetor is ready to start? I didn’t know if you could push fuel through a mechanical pump. Great video I appreciate.
@@johngodwin7902 I don't think so but it seems to help get fuel a bit faster. Didn't work as great as I hoped but if the mechanical one fails I carry a rubber hose in the tool box so I can bypass it and still go.
Funny how those big rocks keep popping up over the years. I have a friend with a backhoe come down every few years to dig up what look like small rocks that turn out to be tips of iceburgs. Lots of fun. Keep on survivin!
I was lucky to find a digger just like this, except i have the 3 speed transmission. Just wondering, did you redo the belt, mine doesnt look like that. Anywho, happy potato farming from NY, i got 2 rows left to dig and am done for the year. Looking forward to more potato growing content!
Great observation, there are actually a couple of videos of him redoing the belt on it. If you go to his channel and search for "potato digger rebuild" the process and details of what was done and where the belt came from, and the refit. The first few episodes are rim and tire repair on it, the best information starts at this episode ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vK-fXcNGuTo.html
It's a "No, 16 or No 17" 16 had a 26 in wide belt, and 17 had a 24in. I could be wrong, but I have the same one, 24in belt with a 3 speed transmission. Was so glad to find this channel and a digger like this one.
@@cottonmouth457 Thanks for the information. I'll have to measure my belt. I didn't plant a lot of spuds this year due to the really wet spring but I'm sure I'll put up another potato digging video.
Just bought one for a project. My grandfather had one here in Nova Scotia and sold it down to Georgia U.S around 2005 I was to young to remember what it looked like.... Are the pulleys on the edger redirecting the belt at around 6:00 original Lloyd pulleys or a good idea you thought of
Yes that is definitely a factor I can see it in my mind too but it took me until about halfway through your video and it clicked but does the belt wear out faster? I wanted to ask my Dad when we were using the buzz saw and an 8N flat belt with a steel pulley on both ends he would put a little bit of 140 weight differential oil on the belt and I thought it would slip off or spin inside the belt but he said it was sticky so it would keep the belt from slipping what are your thoughts and do you have a better idea of what to use for steel to steel pulley grip ?😀🇨🇦
I'm a third generation Super C owner. Mine was orinally bought new by my grandfather in June 1952. He farmed with horses then and only bought the tractor to run a sawmill then gradually bought implements to farm with it. It was also used to run a hammer mill and a stationary baler. I take it on tractor rides with friends and sometimes use it to mow pasture with the side mounted mower. I hope to restore it someday. It still has the 6 volt system and the battery in it is five to six years old.
There's nothing wrong with 6V. Boy, if you knew HOW MANY TIMES people REFUSE to put brushes and bushings in a starter but show up AFTER a 12V conversion with a battery, alternator, ballast resistor and new cables.....and in the boats with 12V starters they STILL refuse to acknowledge brushes.
I like the originality of 6v but my Napa is terrible they look at me like I have two heads but I do prefer 12 volt my grandpa used to do the 8 volt battery in the 6v tractors but I’ve never had good luck with 6 volt
The Napa here is like that, I refuse to deal with 3 stores same owner. If you go to a store that deals with lift trucks or industrial equipment they will have batteries more suitable which may cost more but you need to look at Amp hours (MAH). Often I get clients that try to put automotive batteries in 24V systems thinking they are saving money. Point is 6V is NORMAL in industrial apps used in series.
New sub. My husband and I love your videos. We came over from Molly's channel. Maine is beautiful. We were up there from Georgia in 2019 when my husband and I completed our thru hike of the Appalachian Trail at the ripe old age of 62.
cant wait to see what goes on with bells corn picker that video she did was great with you helping!! that was funny when shane said tims got some skin in the game lol
Good afternoon. So I've asked you before about potato bugs. What you use. I'm pretty sure your answer was macho 2.0. For the life of me, I can't seem to figure out how much to add to say 20 gallons of water. I have a 40 gallon sprayer for the back of the tractor. Everything is per acre. I'm no farmer for sure. I only have 3 rows at 150' Any help would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the great videos
Those impacts work pretty darn good ! I would like to get one sometime. Be good to have when you are going camping. W my father in law gave us a camper so I want to pick up one.
