I watched this documentary and it looks to me as everyone else seems to be fine with it now or even embrace it except McCarthy. He seems to want to blame it for his career not going much further after the hype of these 80’s movies died off.
loved the documentary, just watched it. born in 68, they were my imaginary friends in high school. that said, didn't hear the word "ubiquitous" used by anyone. as a teenager, I identified with John Bender played by Judd Nelson. there were dozens of John Benders in my neighbourhood, including me.
Just watched this. My take.Andrew McCarthy is bitter he’s not as popular as Rob Lowe. Emilio Estevez is bitter he wasn’t as popular as his brother Charlie Sheen, and is probably because he didn’t change his name and wasn’t a bad boy. Ally Sheedy is bitter because she wasn’t as popular as Demi Moore. Amazing he didn’t interview Tom Cruise who they’re all probably jealous of.
Chris will be great but did we need to use that gap eyed chess player chick? Makes this hard to get into, always some scrawny model chick kicking 300 pound dudes asses.. sigh
I watched this today. Its great. Andrew definitely took the term, "brat pack" the hardest. Its a shame Demi hadn't had her chat with him 30 years ago. As a gen X'r myself, i always thought, "brat pack" was bad ass. A badge of honor of sorts, and certainly not a slight.
Dementus is like a beacon of strenght and power he's a master military strategist brutal yet effective. Making him physicaly strong and masculine suits his qualities of a GREAT leader "GREAT DEMENTUS"
A documentary crew came to this burger shack I was working at and I didnt think anything of it until today, a family member sent me a clip of this movie and was like is this you??? So now I get to say Im in a movie. Nice
Just watched it, it was fun to see them again. The one that surprised me the most was Ally Sheedy, she looks amazing. She looks natural, doesn't seem like she had shit done to her face.
1:18 McCarthy sportin' the good ol' "turkey neck" among other tell-tale ravages - the years are finally taking their toll...wonder if he'll succumb and go under the knife
my childhood. i wanted to be an actor and be one of them. how cool to see the reality of what they thought about it all. when emilio goes, hmmm, after being asked if he could change it would he have. they all know they wouldn't. it made them. dichotomy.
How come nobody talks about the girl with all the gifts? If you haven't seen it I think it can stand toe to toe with 28 days later both are British movies too
Emilio made his own movie back then, called Wisdom, starring Demi, about how the poor in middle America were getting screwed. Authentic, intelligent guy with good politics. Hard to believe Charlie Sheen is his brother.
