Yes adapter is required as this lense is f mount not z mount. My recommendation would be nikon 200 500 as it performs little better. Native z mount zoom lenses outperforms any f mount lenses via Ftz.
It works brilliantly with nikon 70-200 f2.8 fl ed vrii , teleconverters are made to work with fast pro lenses, that are already super sharp ,made with special glass which is what sets nikon pro lenses apart , so expect some image degradation if your planning on using these add on converters with nikon none pro lenses ,
decent enough. don't expect fast autofocus performance like canon r7 or sony 6700. But you can get use to the focus system and get a really good photos and videos. Video quality is exceptional good. I prefer shooting slowmo videos of birds
more than half of the pictures look like sh!t, and its making me question to buy it. All the videos that i've seen convinced me, but with this one i dont know anymore.
It's not at par with nikon 200-500. Nikon 200-500 has the telescopic ability but it's a type of prime lens with a fixed aperture which would definitely provide you with better low light photographs..

It is a bit overpriced. If you are getting a good deal below 5 k then it justify the cost. Feels better than wearing Nike or adidas sneaker when it comes to a long day outing
Focus is slow. Most of the time I lose focus on birds on flight . But having said that I can still get good pics with some practice and skill. Works great for still photography and situations where you don’t need fast focus system
