Greetings and welcome to my channel. This is where I post my Let's Play content.
Have I got nothing better to do? Nope, and neither do you. Videos will be published from Mondays till Fridays (12:00 GMT +1). Weekends are preserved for special content(e.g. Alternate Thursdays) and buffer building.
Bought this game several years ago and still to this day I had no idea wtf it was even about? Sat there for like an hour staring at a screen wondering if I'd made a horrible purchase. And now here we are, random youtube suggestion and I'm here for it. Good video, bruv! Now I might actually be able to play this game!
This was a fun little game. Guess due to the way it plays they wouldn’t make it overly long. Maybe you can have a run at the other Tomb Raider games eventually. Those should run a fair bit longer
@@craigthomas5436 Yup, this game feels like you're meant to redo levels to find all the secrets and items. Making that too long would be tedious. Yeah, the other TR games should run for quite some episodes when I get to them.
@@LurkingLion they were a bit more sensible with it when they did the first Red Alert and Dune at least. The Lands games as well (although the 3rd instalment is just voice acting) Silly and cringey definitely describe it 😆 I kinda wonder why they decided to take the acting in this direction though.
@@craigthomas5436 I think because the premise was so silly like on a b-movie level that taking it seriously wouldn't work. Possibly also to make brands of C&C and Red Alert more distinct.
I think an easy way to get around all the creatures getting mad they don't have a lair when they arrive is to put that room next to the portal if you can manage it so when they arrive they walk through there first so will interact with it and put down a lair. Then just put a hatchery near that. Though it also seems like an issue with the Ai that they don't make it a priority and get mad when there's a lair they can reach
Man having a prison and a fight pit would be a great way to rapidly level minions. Just drop prisoners in there your minions have already beaten in combat slap some heals on said minions then drop them in and if heroes slain the fighting pit leave corpses your imps can drag them over to the graveyard next to make vampires
"Naaature heeeds yoouuur caaaall"... "IRONBARK IS HERE" I think you need a bigger retinue, and units that aren't yours to build. The Wood Elves beat the other two Elves. Though Dark Elves have some interesting units.
A 1 on 1 Hero Tournament, now that's an interesting idea... Aren't there two shops there at Enmouth? Isn't the Quartermaster a shop...? Haha, "Enmouth", sounds like something out of H P Lovecraft...
Yes, this is the same map as the first one at Zhur... I noticed that too. At least you'll know the layout if you remember it. Doesn't seem like insane difficulty to me either.
Ah, Undead, always so easy to beat in WBC2. 11:50 Weird quest. I doubt the Undead would have FRESH blood... Surely all you need here is a mass of Snake Priests and your Hero...? Fire vs Undead...
A good bunch of Elven Hunters with Archers to back them up with Fire Arrows might be good...? Maybe some Druids in there too. Hmm, your recording button is set to the same as the games screenshot button...
6:00 I think the enemy Hero either teleported, or it was an illusion. I think every Hero in this match died. You can convert those enemy buildings, you just need something to protect your Hero as he does.
"Tree?" I am no Tree. I am an Ent! 8:01 "Stone, Please". Ah, Age Of Empires. 4:42 Wood Elf Archers can do fire damage, by the way. You spotted that in the previous video.
I wonder if Wood Elf Archers can out-range (or out-damage) Kobold Snipers... Always thought it was funny that one of the random gibberish things Wisps say sounds like "wanker".
@@Diablo_Himself Kobold Snipers have a base range of 12, Glade Wardens have a base range of 8. Even with upgrades the Wood elves get their range would become equal.
18:49 love the series. Why didn't you dump the level 4 guys in with a bunch of the level one enemies you were capturing or skeleton fodder for better exp instead of two high level guys killing each other?
@@LurkingLion That's fair. Was just thinking that training would go faster and get rid of the units you don't need or at least the enemy creatures coming to attack you while you prep your assault
I'm happy to say NOD wins this campaign. Give 'em a win here and there, otherwise they're not a credible enemy. (Hollywood, take note). A small suggestion: Have you ever played Battlezone, from 1998? I think that was the first PC game I ever played, as it came free with our first PC, way back in '99. I'd be interesting to see a playthrough. I'm sure you've plenty of other games you'd like to show off, so don't take this as a demand. As for C&C, yeah take a break. I like RA2, but story-wise it's inferior to 1, in my opinion.
@@ThieflyChap I have not played Battlezone, though I do own it on GoG, at least I think it's the game you mentioned. I'll consider it but for now the schedule is filled and I will need to do some practice with Battlezone.
It's a great old game. We played it in turns for hours back in the day. I honestly wouldn't expect a run anytime this year, I know you're a busy bloke.
@@ThieflyChap That's kinda open to interpretation. In a way both factions win this battle. Slavik becomes the new leader of Nod, and GDI gains the completed Tacitus.
@@Diablo_Himself Basically you do missions favouring that faction till you reach allied status. Though I surmise some races may be allied through events.
I do like me some Anno. Never played this one though so should be a fun watch. The sound track must be your dedicated Anno track lol damn copyright strikes. It’s a very relaxing track to listen to
@@LurkingLion what’s so special about the Anno soundtrack but not other games you play? I’m sure any number of companies could copy strike you. Is it mainly just the Anno series or have you run into this with other games?
@@craigthomas5436 I don't think it's anything special per se, just that the licensing of the music is different. Likely the rights for the music stays with the artists rather than with the developer. But I don't know.
Played this as a teen, was so much fun. I was or still am very environmental conscious so the setting of the game really resonated with me. Though this is what the world would really look like in the future. Now that I’m older, I think the setting fits anno more since the game always had the separate big islands, and this makes more sense in the near future with global warming than in the 1400s or whatever.
The good ending is definitely canon story wise. If you ended up with the evil Luther ending the next game never would have taken place. Belial dead then the Draracle dead when he shows up to try killing you. He’s basically just a reskinned Belial. The fights the same. He has a few words to say to you about you indeed being Scotias evil son or some such. And of course Luther says he will display their corpses in HIS museum after which time he levels the Huline Village. Never understood why he didn’t level Gladstone but whatever. Luther is a real bastard if you play that path lol. There are dialogue differences throughout the game if you go evil. You can smack Dawn and Baccata around every chance you get and eventually kill the both of them. You’ll end up having to fight the stature of Belial yourself if you kill Baccata though. There’s big differences in how you deal with characters in the Huline Monastery and Wildling Village and the dialogue there and in general just kill most anyone you come across. Lots of things to see throughout. It was a good play though and looking forward to seeing your run of Lands 3. If you thought the Ruloi in this game were fun to deal with just wait until you come across them in the next one. They get a bit of an upgrade and are even more of a pain to take on than the brown spiders in this game. Enjoy! 😆
Daemons are your allies...? I didn't authorise that! Haha. 15:59 You didn't actually SELL that Hammer... Those Shrines, do they give riddles like in WBC2...? Always loved that. They were pretty easy though.
@@Diablo_Himself Bit hard to say really. I'm kinda liking the Ssrathi. With nice and straightforward strategy but TBF I haven't really delved into the various races deeply enough.
Sooooo this part. Those alcove type places your seeing in the room that can kill you holds all of Belials dragonscale armor and his drake fire ring. If you can get over there and into the alcoves fast enough you can take all of that for yourself and use it against him in the fight with him and gain some protections. Otherwise, he gets some boosts from them if he wears them. Total immunity to fire attacks I believe as well as protection against ancient magic? When Scotia shows up if you can get around her and get across the area behind her you can move right into that area. I had forgotten that you could have picked up the Ruby of Truth from Dawn in the birthing chamber. If you had that you could dispel both Scotia and the Draracle and quickly move on from them
@@LurkingLion so guess your gonna go back and get the Ruby off screen? It’s possible to beat Belial without the Ruby and the gear you could pick up but it is harder
Was trying to figure out what this game reminds me of. Balders gate: dark alliance and champions of norath come to mind. This is one is a bit more interactive though I think. I may try this out myself after watching a bit more of your playthrough. Have you played any of the earlier tomb raiders or considered doing lets plays of them? Or not really your thing?
Nearly at the end. Not sure if the timer starts in these first rooms but there is sorta a time limit before Belial gets fully armed/armored and not long beyond that before he just outright wins. That’ll be one of the endings to show. Either way he’ll be obviously easier to beat before he’s fully prepped but at your level you shouldn’t have any issues killing him
