Visiting World War 2 battlefields around Europe is a fascinating and moving experience. Soldiers who fought the war left behind a legacy; their name on a war memorial, an experience is passed down to the family or a faded photograph in a frame. How do we understand the significance of that legacy and how do we understand what the battlefields mean to us now?
These are all questions we regularly ask on Battlefield Tours and they are at the heart of what we do: myself and the team of Battlefield Guides are there to help you decipher that legacy, and understand a past that touched us all; whether it relates to the sandy beaches of Normandy or the concrete walls that once surrounded Berlin. Battlefield Tours tells you the story behind the liberation of Europe. Check our website now for our unique tours: www.battlefieldtours.nu
So many died on beaches that single day Soldiers 18. 24, are now 98- 104 if alive While the world burns, gl8bal warming, please no more wars. This means you Russia & Taliban
If those solders didn't stop the Japanese /Germans, we would all be eating raw fish and or eating sauerkraut. We may have to deal with another Furor but let's pray we don't.
Just think being out for a walk and you came up a hill to the top . Looked out and saw this Out in front of you. For me it would be emotional and think back to the actual day it happened and only imagine the noise and gunfire. Good job too job to the people that put these up.
This makes me cry. I am so grateful to the generation who gave there lives for the greater good of the world. I am so should I couldn't make it to Normandy on the 80th anniversary.
I love the sprit of this man! Thank you, David Marshall for your service! I was just contacted by the US Army asking to assist in helping find a 3rd cousin's remains who was missing in action from WWII from the Battle of Geilenkirchen. I never knew his family but I will gladly help with providing my dna to identify his remains.
This is such a touching monument... Thank you all for your service, so future generations could live in peace. Where would we be without your bravery, RIP....
