You really need to make sure both the derailleur AND the axle bolts are torqued correctly to spec! I had shifting issues with my Stumpjumer evo until I torqued the thru axle to the correct spec rather than just hand tight.
Great tutorial. What’s your opinion on how Transmission performs compared to older AXS? Is it actually that much better? I am torn on T type or older AXS.
Depends on who’s using it. For recreational use and weekend warriors it’s a very nice luxury. For people that participate in race events, the shifting under load and impact durability of the rear mech could make or break your race day.
Curious on the bottom bracket. When you order the whole transmission package, it doesn't come with a bottom bracket, correct? Should it be good to go with whatever bottom bracket you've already got on your bike?
You would have the correct BB if you are changing from one SRAM Dub Standard crank to the T-Type crank. There will be a spacer kit in the box with the Transmission Kit. The kit does not come with a Dub BB.
Great to see an installation video with these. Was wondering how difficult it would be with hydraulic brakes and if it is even possible. Great to see it works. Considering these for the next season and therefore as a xmas gift this year to me ^^
super easy routing with hydraulic brakes -fully internal routing even! And they just redesigned their bars for easier routing. There's a video coming soon from @roadcyclingacademy that'll highlight the new redesign. Happy riding! Merry Xmas (albeit a bit early!)
@@Christine-th8bl Oh, that sound really neat! Thx for that info. Looking forward to it. (Most probably it will indeed be a xmas present for myself then ^^)
@@plproductions8887 there are holes for inserting shift buttons on tops as well as drops on the RR bar. It is also designed to internally route remote shift cables if not using wireless remote shifters. Hope this helps. 😊
In the Netherlands they have a saying: 'A good steal is better than a bad idea.' The wide handles were introduced years ago in the Netherlands on tour and city bikes.
It's clearly a matter of perspective...and your perspective is WRONG! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Just kidding! As a pro cyclist of 20 years I've had to ride everything from the sweetest machines and components to brakes that were just for show. pffff
Interesting! They look so strange, I wonder how they change the overall fit of the bike. If they made a cockpit with a normal Garmin mount (better looks) with a sizing guide so that your position with hands on shifters doesn't change, this could sell. Although I guess being aero with hands on in the middle of the bars is anti aero given how upright you are, so I'm not sure how useful that is. I guess you make the worst position on the bike in terms of aero less bad?
Doesn’t change it much if you account for the drop. In regards to aero, in the truck you’re not much different than on aerobars. Used them yesterday at Midsouth for the 100 mile course and was either on the hood or in aero the whole race, they were great. Coefficient makes a model without the bridge, they’re called the AR.
Well, then you're in LUCK! The RR does NOT change your fit position on the bike. You can even keep your same stem AND same stack height! What you do win though is extra comfort so you feel fresh as a daisy after every ride. A WIN-WIN if you ask me. ;-)
I personally find them a bit "terminator-looking". Well, actually this is what got me into cycling in the first place mannnnny years ago. A guy showed up at my doorstep in the middle of a snowstorm for our first date...this was in the Village in Manhattan mind you! When I opened up the door it was love at first sight...my date was standing next to the sexiest machine i'd ever seen, a Breezer mountain bike with RockShox suspension! Eventually I ditched the guy but kept his bike and a couple years later became a pro cyclist for Team Breezer! To this day, I remain attracted to the extraordinary - like the RR bar! Like YOU said, both function AND form matter equally.

Hey there, loved the video. Reaching out with a question, I have a 22 Acura Mdx and just got a hitch installed. It says Capacity is 3500 Lbs, with a Max tongue weight of 350 Lbs, and 2” receiver. I am planning to get a 1 up super duty double, and 2 superduty extensions as I need to carry 4 bikes( 1 Trek Roscoe 32 Lbs and 3 trek Marlins 30 Lbs per bike). Is the younger limit and tow capacity enough? Do help
@@NikolausHagedorn I did my man! It was a great day! Forgot my gloves and my hands were done by mile 80, and I had to back off the pace so I would lose it and kill myself. Regardless, it was a really fun day and the vibe was great everywhere on course! How was yours?
What about wobble factor for Offroad use? I'm think of going with Rig'd due to YT videos showcasing no wobble. You slightly mention it, but I'm hoping for clarification.
I haven’t had issues with off road use. I don’t go on ohv trail with it but have had many times where the road to the trail is not typical. Zero issues. The rig’d ones look very sturdy.
I’m not a fan of the DHR. The aggressor I do like a lot. My usual setup for all around is DHF front and rear. On more gnarly stuff I’ll slap an assegai up front. I keep it simple. The DHF work really well all around and running them f/r makes having spares an easy ordeal.
I have this issue on my Tacoma with a Kuat NV 2.0 - tailgate hits the wheel tray and will dent if any weight put on it. Even if the rack is tilted down. They make an adapter to lower it but that adds 9” in length which is ridiculous. Bottom line just ordered a 1Up ( and for the weight factor).
Well made shoe will last you forever. Bought a pair of Carnac Sahara's in the early 1990s. Replaced the valcro a few times and had the sole glued in spots. It was a great Italian made shoe and durability and repairability of the shoes is awesome. They are beefy and heavy which is a trade off for the longevity of the shoe.
by all means, i got a pair of Mavic shoes that lasted me for 10yrs ... like everything else, it's all about technology .. so , can't wait to try out my new Recon 3.0's
I like the having the option to repair. Even then though, it all depends on the terrain you’re having to walk on. Tons of rocks here in North Texas and in Bentonville where I spend most of my miles.
I have and like those too. I prefer the xc style shoes more though. I like how they fit around the foot much more closely than the skate shoe style uppers.
My Superduty Single just arrived, and the knob for the rack adjustment is screwed down so tight that I can’t unscrew it to pull up the adjuster bar. Tried WD40 and a wrench. This ever happen to you?? Super frustrating
I have had that piece get really tight a couple times. I’m assuming you’re speaking of the black knob essentially turns on and off the function of folding the rack up or down? The couple times I had problems I got it loose with some work but never had to introduce any tools or liquids to do so.
