I been at it for years trying to upgrade my gear. It takes time and you discover that you don’t need all of trinkets. Just the basic and don’t make complicated.
Just so nobody else wastes their time…this method doesn’t work. You can put aluminum tape on all the seams, handle areas, bottom rim & lid handle (inside). Then cardboard circle on the bottom, inside the lid and all around the inside. Anything you place inside has to be covered with aluminum foil (wrap the seams with aluminum tape). Put on the lid, use aluminum tape all around the rim. Now you have a properly working faraday cage. Don’t forget to mark each box with what’s inside.
Those filters are your respirator are going bad sitting out like that. Unless they are just particulate filters. If they had carbon type filtering for VOCs or chemicals they will go back out in the open air.
You can take this with a grain of salt all you want but I happen know that an event of biblical apocalyptic proportion is on the horizon and it's the very reason I started prepping.
Check your water tank monthly for maintenance for prevention of Mold, film, & other impurities. If possible, consider a darker coloured tank (blue, beige, grey) where light can't penetrate it. OUTSTANDING preps❗ Thanks for sharing this video & info with us 🌻 . #RealTalk
if it's shtf, long term sort of thing, you have to scatter-bury food at your BOL. You can't use the roads, cause they will e full of tire flatteners and ambushes. You can't be out and about in daylight, make noise or show a light at night, In a year, 99_% of the population will be dead Until then, tho, stay in a tunnel that you dig post shtf, and come out only at night, or you'll get shot
The ideal situation for a BOB is to get you to either the main place you would ride out whatever event is happening or to your back up place in case your home/main shelter is compromised some how. I have stuff prepped for about a week or so at home and if I absolutely need to leave and can't stay with friends or relatives then I have a small area back on my family's land where I can set up a temporary camp away from roads and houses a decent distance. It won't be luxury living, but I would have access to shelter and water and maybe canned food or hunt/forage for food.
If you are really scared that an apolocopics is soon, why not live in your safty shelter? What makes people think their car will still be working to be able to drive 2-10 hours away during when things get that bad?
Better off drinking the water now. By the time the gooberment tells the public the water is tainted considering it already is by them, we would all be dying like we are.
I would also recommend practicing using a respirator before you actually have to use it. They do restrict your breathing and are very uncomfortable. Its better to understand how they will effect you before you are in a difficult situation.
I have a question, if you have like a bunch of water like you and you leave it sitting for maybe like a year or two is it safe to drink in a shtf setting?
In most cases, if you are smart about it. If not, then by the time you need it, your water will have been molding the inside of the tank, or algae would be growing inside of it if you leave the tank uncovered with light able to transmit through to the water. there are other worries, it all depends on how well you've cleaned it, and what happened to be floating through the air at that time that you cleaned it in whatever enviroment that you then filled it up and trapped it inside along with your water. I would still be filtering each glass after extracting it from that container just in case, depending on how long it's been in there.
Only reason to leave in an SHTF scenario is if you’re safer somewhere else than at your own home. Only if you’re in highly urbanized areas or struck by natural disaster is when it makes sense
This all sounds good BUT look at North Carolina when your own government tried to take you out AND THEY NOT FINISHED…with ONE devastating storm will wipe this completely out your house….NOBODY is prepared for that!!! There are more storms to come they already said it out loud and proven to be MAN MADE….GOD SAID IT THEN YOUR GOVERNMENT SAID THE QUIET PART OUT LOUD!!! Just because SOME people think they ok because they in a NO HURRICANE zone state or they live in a democrat state NOBODY is exempt from what an out of control government wipe out is capable of and all these preps are for nothing….THINK ABOUT THAT!!! GOD SPOKE a national ER is coming!!!!
Full size truck , 3 barrels of fuel and 3 barrels of water in the bed. For added security- full length job boxes down the rails (weather guard) with your dry goods locked inside. Add 3/8” steel plate along inside of truck bed,job boxes and tailgate to protect the contents from enemy fire. Do same with inside of door panels using hooks on the steel plates to hang them from windowsill
You are supposed to move most of your gear, little by little, to a neutral, safe location. Then, when you have to leave, you are going to where you have stashed your stuff.
Helene was not a ‘natural hurricane’. Good idea on the ‘get home bag’. Can’t go too long on a backpack supply. Best thing to prep is your soul for Jesus. 🙏🏼♥️🙏🏼
I live a life of preparedness. The idea of being a prepper comes with images of zombies and apocalyptic chaos nationwide. You are more likely to face a natural disaster or an economic disaster. Shelter in place has always been our number one plan. Bugging out, especially with family/children, is insane! But don't follow ready.gov with only 3 days. Shoot for 30-90 days. After all, how long is it taking for people to get real assistance after Helene? Does anyone remember Catrina? Prepare for the types of natural disasters that are prime to your region. Then triple that: 1. The government takes too long. 2. Insurance takes too long. 3. Neighbors may have needs. Be safe, not sorry.
