It's crazy because all hair is good hair, yet some women don't think so. My mother is mixed and I inherited hair from her. When I don't feel like doing it for days because I get lazy too, my hair gets so tangled and my curls are harder to deal with. Whenever it gets wet, the curls get long, wet and stringy to the point that I can't stand it, at times I wish that my hair was course because I can deal with it much better. Either way, as women, we always want some of what others less struggles with when it comes to hair. I struggle too with what to do with my hair at times, so we all are blessed with beautiful hair rather it be curly, wavy, course, stringy, thick and etc. So proud to be a woman. Pick your struggles, we all have them.
I know this is a video from 8 yrs ago lol, but in 2023 I just took out my halo braid was looking for a quick and easy style to do and I just did style #1… & #3 is gorge I may do that next time
Good for you embracing your natural hair and natural beauty. In my opinion no one should ever have to worry about if their hair is professional, especially not minority women because in the US we obviously do have a history of (and obviously currently have) systematic racism. Every time anyone thinks or says hoops or braids are "unprofessional" that is simply reinforcing systematic racism and sexism. Because who makes the rules? Historically white men. That's why some consider it "unprofessional" for women to not wear make up, or African-American women with beautiful hair like yours to wear it how they would like (especially natural, especially with such gorgeous natural hair like yours!) I would like to think in the US, through so many people speaking up on this and saying "Why?" I think we've definitely started to turn a corner. I'm really glad that your coworkers admired your natural hair, I do very much so as well. I feel like people like the one guy are unprofessional- I can't believe he would say that. However, turning a corner is not enough until the entire country recognizes that a woman's hair is not "professional" or "unprofessional." Only then do I feel like we should stop saying "No- you don't get to undermine women and minorities by claiming that certain natural hair is 'unprofessional' thus indicating that minorities are less professional." Anyway, thank you for your video. I am not a minority, and I really enjoyed hearing your perspective. I've been reading about this from the chapter "Searching for Black Girls" on racial bias in tech algorithms and how it perpetuates systematic racism. I think it's absolutely crazy that we still live in a world where even some people would try to label natural minority hair as "unprofessional" and I really enjoyed your video.
Hey Tiffany, Super Cute quick and easy. I use to do my ponytails that way but girl since I cut my hair (and ya know shrinkage is real 😂) I have to stretch my hair first to really get it sleek in the front and I need a little gel 😂😂😂
I wear my hair in locs and now I'm older my locs are salt and pepper and silver. I had a colonizer said my hair looked like a dirty mophead, I told her her issues are not mine !!!
