@chefksmith1247 because I forgot to bring something to cut it on lol. Also, the grill is fine. I didn't dig it down into the griddle while cutting. All is good 👍
Hey again bub, it's me. I've had snapping and mud turtle both. Can't say there was a huge amount of difference, but we did cage the mud turtle in a clean running creek for a few days to "get some of the mud out" - whether that works or not I'm not sure, just something I been taught to do with mud turtles and if it ain't broke don't fix it. Just my two cents worth bub.
@travisfox5034 I'm sure it makes a small difference lol. We haven't ate it yet. Went camping at laurel lake Monday. Tried taking some videos but they wasn't much worth messing with 😂. Will have to try it again. You about ready to try musky fishing on the pontoon?
Awesome video as usual guys. Love seeing someone from the area out there showing everyone how us country boys do it. It makes the heart warm seeing those old baits being brought back to life. Most see them as collectables, but they still have life in them. Your grandpa would be proud. Keep it up guys, and as usual, hello from your biggest fan over here in Corbin.
Awesome trip guys. I'm legitimately jealous. Muskie are the one species I've not caught but have always wanted to, they just aren't in my area to catch lol. Got pickerel in Laurel lake, supposedly, but never seen one. My dad grew up muskie fishing and always rubs it in my face I've not got one yet. Need to hook a brother up! 😅
@@HowardOutdoorAdv Hell yeah man. I'm there! Dad can bite my butt over muskies now lol! Especially if I can get one of any size n rub it in his face a while ha!! Have fun and be safe while you're traveling man and most of all, have fun. Life's too short to waste it and fish don't catch themselves.....
We'll do it! Working on that musky fishing video soon. I went and shoveled the boat ramp today. Was covered in mud, sand, and clay. Hopefully in a day or 2 it'll be clear enough to drive on without sliding
Beautiful float man...wish the fishing had been better for you but any day on the water with friends is a day well spent. Heading on my first kayak/float trip of the year next week, hope I have half as much fun as you guys did!!😊
Hey man good to see you fishing with the little ones. So important to teach them well. I agree, could be from a hook, or my first thought was maybe a turtle got a bite out of it and it got away? Definitely an odd catch
Hey Travis, good to hear from you again! Yes sir, been teaching my kids since they could walk lol. Turtle is a good possibility cause this pond is slap full of them. Whatever caused it has been awhile back. It's healed up nicely though. Decided to toss it back; figured it had been through enough in its life lol
@@HowardOutdoorAdv ha! Hear you there man poor thing done getting made fun of by its friends. Then again it was nice n fat so maybe they're all like u don't wanna mess with Bob over there. See his scar? You should see the other guy! Either way he deserved to swim another day. Had hoped to catch up with you guys one day and wet a line. Been a strange season here. Lot of the farm ponds are seeing bass on the nest. Happened in June last year for comparison. I lost most of my prespawn fun and didn't know it lol. Catching some decent cats and panfish, just not got my big bass of the year. Keep those bobbers down boys and thanks for another fun video from your #1 fan
@travisfox5034 absolutely lol! Done got himself a reputation after earning that one 😂. Absolutely need to get together for some good fishing and a good video! Been seeing bass on the nest early around here as well. A bit odd I'll agree. Almost got the pontoon ready, hoping to take it to laurel lake for a camping trip 🏕
@@HowardOutdoorAdv that's awesome man, pontoons are the some of the most fun you can have on a lake, and Laurel is in my back yard! Been having any luck with pay lakes this year? Nobody I know has really done all that great. Might be an off season for fishing, period. Hope not, love me a fish fry too much !
@travisfox5034 I went with a buddy to Tim's shortly back and nothing was caught. He went to Berea with his brother-in-law and caught some. We've caught alot of keeping size bass, bluegill, and a few crappie. We're saving up for a fish fry ourselves. My brother caught a 7.06 pound bass yesterday
It's illegal to chum with in Kentucky. You can put a few pieces on a hook. I see what you mean about them not being able to digest it. See in the video that it came out whole lol. We wasn't using corn, but can tell alot of people do cause there was cans of corn laying on the banks
Man u must have balls of steel. No way I would drop a go pro under the dock of a lake anywhere near clay county. That piece of clothes the cam found might just have had an arm or something still in it! Seriously though, I really am just kidding! I'm from Whitley, and it's good to see the area being represented. If you're ever out my area give me a yell. We can fish Laurel or a couple good farm ponds I have access to (one is loaded with bass the other some of the biggest meanest hybrid bluegill you'll ever see).. ever do any pay lake fishing? Whole different beast than what you usually film but it might interest viewers too. Keep up the good work guys and tight lines!
There do be some sketchy places in Clay. Be taking the pontoon out on bert combs lake soon. Gonna take some gopro videos of what's out in the deep. Going to be doing some camping trips at laurel lake this summer. And yea we go to Tim's paylake in London. Yes sir, be fun to get out and try new places. I'll definitely get up with you in the near future
@@HowardOutdoorAdv trust me there's some sketchy places in Whitley too! Get out to Tim's quite often myself and I spend every free minute I can fishing somewhere be it paylake or local water hole. Looking forward to seeing what's next for you all, headed to my farm pond to see what's awake for the year. Pre spawn was a blast last year down there, managed to snatch a dozen or more large mouth over 3 lb and my new PB of 8lb4oz all by mid may. It's that time of year again!!!
@@travisfox5034 did a little trout fishing today. Talked to a buddy about possibly going to Tim's this coming Saturday or Sunday. My PB largemouth is 5lbs
Well, that didn't work out😂😂😂 This is why I always wear my shit kicker boots to go fishing. Even wearing shorts in summertime. That creek bank can be dangerous!!
@@HowardOutdoorAdv dude ain't that the way it always goes? Falling in the mud on a bank or slipping in the water one, especially if it's cold. Every time I don't wear good boots.
