Very well driven on Big Willow. Looks like your C6Z is very well setup for the course. Just love how respectful all the drivers are in these events, makes for some fun track days for sure. Best I was able to put down in my 17 ZL1 (non 1LE and Sport Cup 2 tires) was a solid 1:36.4 and even then, there were a few places I was skipping sideways after the tires got nice and hot.
Really timely video! As we all have heard Willow Springs is up for Sale! An American travesty I hope that it is truly bought by a True Race Car enthusiasts and it lives on. As we have seen Emelia Hartfords post about buying the track… Hopefully people with much deeper Pockets Sponsorship come in play to execute such a huge Opportunity! However badass C6 Track monster love it I am buying my first Vette this year!!! Great video…
Nick here with the 2023 Mach 1. Very nice job on the video, I am very impressed! What location are you in. We will be running Willow Springs again the end of October and in April with the Shelby bash at Spring Mountain. I really love that track. Nice driving!
It was a lot of fun and the car ran great. Had a little scare though. I started towards the back of one of my sessions and was passing cars working my way up. Looked in my rearview mirror and there was a Mach 1 right on my tail. I pointed him by and was right on his tail for a bit. We were going around turn 9, he went off track on the left came across right in front of me and went off track to the right side of me. I felt bad for the guy, he probably did 8 to $10,000 damage to the front of his car. We will run Willow Springs again the last weekend of October with the Cobra Club.
I have a 23 HP A10 and I was at that track on Friday the 12th with the Shelby Bash. It was my my first time on that track. Flat and a lot of turns. Nice job with the Porsche! I tried to keep up with a 911 Carrera 4S but no luck. Heading to Willow Springs on May 11th with the Cobra Club.
It was great, always lotta fun. I was running with a track attack 350 and I had a HP Mach1 spin out in front of me and go off track on turn 9. It was a little scary! The last weekend in October is the next event.
I wasn't there, however on lap.one you say the gt3 is trying to keep pace and on lap 4 he's still close enough to you to attempt a pass. It would seems to me he was tired of following you and you didn't give a point by after 4 laps and might have been holding him up. Why not give the point by and prove he was not able to out pace you
I am a huge fan of the ZL1 1LE on track. I have a couple friends running them. Awesome track car. Enjoy it. We will be at Chuckwalla again in March with Speed Ventures. How about you?
@@rickbailey7142 Yes, the ZLE was definitely impressive and I was not pushing the car very hard, managed a 1:57 with much left on the table. I'll definitely be at the March Chuckwalla event, I'll stop by and say hi. I'm doing the Streets of Willow next Saturday in a different car but I really enjoy Chuckwalla.
The 10 speed auto does indeed click off really quick shifts. I love it. Trans temps were the same as street driving. But admittedly the day was ideal in the mid to high 60's.
Awesome drive, and the MagneRide Helped a lot too ! Great run! I haven't taken my 2022 Roush Mustang yet, and the only Tracks around me are Fontana and Big Willow, in California 👨🏻👍🏻🏎🏎🏁🏁
Nice driving! I have the same exact car same color handling package and a 10. I run at Willow Springs with the Orange County cobra club and spring mountain raceway with Shelby American. What tweaks have you done with your car?
I tried to lighten up the car a bit. Saved almost 40 pounds with lighter wheels, Project 6GR, I did a rear seat delete, lightweight battery, and cleared everything out of the trunk. probably 100 pounds or so. I do adjust the camber at the track. I am around and -2.8 in the front and 1.75 in the rear. The Shelby bash is in April this year and will run two days at Spring Mountain if you are interested.
Thank you. No mods on my Mach1. I am looking at installing camber plates soon. But I don't plan to mod the motor because I want to keep my 5yr 60k warranty
Sorry Mike. I had that pic on my PC and thought it was of my Mach 1. It is a nice angle of the Handling Package wheels. But I changed it out. Do you run your Mach 1 on track? If so what tracks?
Sold the C8 4 months ago because after 35+ track days the electronic diff would turn off half way through a session. But then be OK again after sitting for 15 minutes. The dealer had it 4 times looking for the cause. But with no computer codes and because the problem could not be duplicated on the street they could not solve the issue. GM was certainly not going to install a new DCT and differential assy without the ability to confirm the problem. So if she was not going to be a track partner any longer then she had to go. I will run the Mach1 until the C8 Z06 delivers.
You either single- or double-apex it. I've always single-apexed it, but either works. It's not that difficult of a turn, really. Just need to position yourself well for a proper exit.
As a GT350 and C8Z51 owner, and not yet tracked either, (tracked prior C5/C6) I can say that in the right hands these cars can do what no one thought American cars could do a few years ago. GT350 so fun, and guttural, C8 so refined and precise, like a scalpel and a samurai sword, both get the job done, just in different ways…..
Find a local track and see which groups hold events there. They will typically have a novice group with instructors to teach you the basics of being on a track. It's immense fun! Your car is able to handle the track as-is, but you'll want to do some basic tweaks to it once your skill level increases.
Lady at the saying have blast is 100% what it’s about, it’s all about enjoying it, letting go, and just the raw feeling of adrenaline, dopamine, and love. You got my dream car doing exactly I wanna do, enjoy your whip man, madly beautiful.
Great video on track awareness, etiquette and knowing your own car! Drivers like you are a pleasure to be on track with, no wonder you have so many friends. Nice work!
