Forgot about the part where it sat for a day or 2 and the air bled off because someone pulled the battery knife switch so you have to get another engine and hookup the hose to build up pressure and then start it. Absolutely the worst idea ever making these engines air start

I’m so glad I found this I just recently bought an SD70ACE off of marketplace and didn’t know what to do with it

Nothing like opening the start compartment, turn the knob to prime the diesel and see the fuel fill the site glass before engaging the starter.

It’s incredible when you can hear the difference from just the air turning the engine and when the engine actually starts to turn.

Love the emd 710's but the air starters are a huge nono for me!
