I enjoyed watching your process. Your level of tenacity is evident in this work. The artistic imagination is obvious but your dedication to complete this piece is stunning to say the least. I am a metal artist but highly doubt due to space and cost that I’d work this large so I live vicariously through artists like you for the big stuff. Well done. This is a gorgeous work of art.
Not sure there needs to be a 'meaning' Philip...your art is impacting in at least a three dimensional sense if not more when you consider the influence of elements and changing light...simply eye candy of the infinite variety. I have no doubt that you have joined the company of Moore, Serra, Koons and Kapoor et al...you should feel extraordinary pride in your work. And a shout out to Tom Wade...brilliant short film subtely executed...less is more as they say. Bravo to both artists and thank you.
Absolutely love this! Thanks for sharing. The spinning in the workshop had me laughing so hard, I had a different image from what you were talking of but now seeing it as you done it... You are a genius 🤣 great filming, editing and dialogue. The sculpture is incredible really enjoyed this and looking forward to more. Was awesome to meet you, absolute joy to be at your workshop. I suspect a future Philip Rae Scott 'pickle' is inevitable, and I suggest is fundamental to creating more staggering art...as much a creation as it is art in the case of this improbable structure...a powerful statement now etched in my mind's eye. Although I could not do justice to the column in trying to describe it to someone without sight, it's perhaps enough to say that it lives in an expectation of reaching upwards, growing with time...so Rae-Scott gives life and a soul to rusting metal...no mean feat and undoubtedly impossible to achieve without the 'pickle' ... Remarkable...bravo Philip ! :) Kudos to Tom Wade for the pro film-work and a nod to the cameo appearance of your Pearly Miss...
