Acid ftw! This lead is just basic crave stuff really, with some poly rhythm stuff going on (I think I'm using maybe 12 steps instead of 8 or 16) and an envelope for the timing of the steps which creates a sort of shuffle. Then just play with the filter till it sounds good 😄
Glad you enjoyed! For the exact edge patch I'd have to look back at the footage a little closer but in essence I'm using the pitch velocity for the melodic rhythm, with values somewhere in the middle for steps 3, 4 and 6, (or 7), 8. Making sure it's offbeat from the kick. I hope this explanation makes sense! I use both oscillators, but often one for a kick sound (without pitch env) and the 2nd for the melody. Then I just add FM for the frog-like sound 🐸😊
This sort of setup seems so much more fun than just my keyboard synths. So tactile and immediately interactive. Something I think most modern synth manufacturer's lost sight of! We need all those knobs and sliders! Touch screens and menu diving takes all the immediate creativity out of composing!!!
Totally agree! This setup is definitely very hands-on, which makes it super fun to jam with. I recently did another jam (which I'll upload here, somewhere in the future 😜) with 3 times as much gear, and that was great for quickly setting up different types of tunes. Very cool. It is a bit difficult to control everything at the same time though. Sometimes I wish I had an extra set of arms 😄
Thx!! I very much appreciate that :) I'm thinking of putting these on bandcamp too so people can download them easier, I'll put the link in the description if I do
Session in your live! Ziemlich geil!!!! I got the edge and the impact too and Roland mini synth and of course the tb3 and rd6(303&606 -from Behringer )… since I think four days , I was doing 4(!) livesets in the first 26 hours - yesterday I ordered the mini brute2s , if I listen to your sound i Hope I don’t do a mistake- the crave sounds verr y cool…😵💫
Thanks! Yeah I love how getting new gear inspires to mess around so much, it's very addictive :) Don't think you can really go wrong with a mini brute btw, but the crave is also great
Actually the mini brute arrives and ITS GREAT!!! This day I do 4 songs with it, if u like look at my channel , u will find them there! Würde mich freuen!!!! So have a Good day! @@dephanx
Wicked , Wicked Jam my man 🤤😜 I got my EDGE a few weeks ago and emmediatly fell in Love with it , and the Drumbrute impact should be sold with it !!!😜👍 its one of those synths you get TOTALLY Sucked into & end up wondering where the Last Hour went , i recorded a track last week that ill Drop on Sunday ,& Trust me ..... yer gonna enjoy it if this jam made you happy !!! 😜😉👍jaffa j.
Thanks man!! Yeah the edge is one of those beasts that will produce interesting sounds almost by itself, I'm also happy to go on for way too long when in the zone :P The full version of this set was half an hour and that felt like 10 minutes to me :) Looking forward to hearing your take!
@@dephanx I've got the same setup except J-6. I couldn't properly synchronize S-1 with Drumbrute although did it in a correct way. Still I play in unsynced fashion as you did, unfortunately.
@@kircillarincihan Being a dj at heart I don't mind syncing manually, with the occasional drift or looseness. But I have to say, there is something beautiful about everything running in perfect sync. It really does sound cooler imho. So I'm gonna do my best to figure this out and have my rolands synced up with the drumbrute! Next video I'll do better 😅
@@dephanx BTW, I've just discovered how to sync them. You need 2 cables which are 3.5 mm TRS-TRS cable and 3.5 mm TRS-MIDI cable. The first one should be connected from brute's mix out to S-1's mix in, the second one from brute's MIDI out to S-1's MIDI in. Et voila.. perfectly synced
