@@DavidSusiloUnscripted would you happen to have Jeepers Creepers-2 special edition Blu-ray ? I lost my copy while moving and need to replace it thanks
I have issue with DV 4k movies, the brigtness keeps changing so drastically and rapidly, that it is really annoying to watch, i had to turn it off DV from settings and it stopped doing that. Any solution to DV brightness change?
I see that the player has a slot for hdd but you use an ssd, do either fit in there? Also does the player come with its own storage and if so, how much storage?
I’ve been thinking about purchasing this projector but have some doubts if it would be an upgrade from my BenQ LK970. The BenQ LK was nearly twice it’s price but also used the .66 chip which was a real native 2K chip then pixel shifter it to get a real 4K image. The BenQ uses the smaller .47 chip which is only native 1080 then pixel shifts it to 4K. Also the BenQ had nearly twice the lumens at 5,000 ANSI lumens. Vs the 2,600 Lumens the BenQ W5800 has. Which is a major difference in brightness especially since I’m using a 200 inch 16:9 screen. What are your thoughts comparing the models? What big benefit does the BenQ W5800 have over the BenQ LK970?
It’s no comparison. The 5000 lumens was measured using the brightest mode but after proper calibration it will only produce around 2000 lumens. Whereas the W5800 2500 lumens was measured using best-preset/post calibration. The 5800 has a much better tone mapping than the LK970. So picture wise it will be better too. Plus the lens quality on the 5800 is far superior than the LK970. Last but not least, the LK970 is designed for bright installation, not for home theatre
So I’ve been reading your comments and watching the videos on the JVC N700. I am In the budget to spend $10,000 on a projector. And I’ve also heard JVC has some of the very best projectors especially on actual 4K HDR. Material. Would you say that it would be a much better jump than buying the BenQ W5800 especially if I’m wanting real 4K HDR material?
Hi David. Your best settings provided are based on Stewart StudioTek 130" G4 screen. Since I am using StudioTek 110" G3 screen, did you find about any differences between G3 and G4? Do you have any ideas about any adjustment of your best settings specially catering for G3 then? Thanks.
I bought a tone winner ad99d, i'll connect them to my new monitor audio silver 100, I hope is agood amp because it had a great price for Mexico, everything is a lot more expensive here
@@drpeemac for shadow details I can not give a recommendation because every room, lighting conditions, viewing distance will have have different recommendations. For colour space just use auto.
@drpeemac like I said, the numbers are different depending on the lighting conditions, room conditions and viewing distance. Saying “dark” is not enough. I should be inside your house, use image generator and measurement tools in order to give you recommendation.
@drpeemac thank you!! Sorry I can’t help further with some settings. I don’t want to BS you with something that may be misleading you and any other viewers
@@DavidSusiloUnscripted It can be confusing. With both you can change XO but the moment you create filters for DLBC and sent it to the avr is DLBM obsolete since you use DLBC?
That I really don’t know. I tested this more than 3-4 months ago. All I find is that the MCACC’s own bass management and calibration, sonically the bass is far better using MCACC’s own method.
@jakeg2307 I don’t recall. I saw the microfarads and that’s how I know that they are relatively big for something this small. But I don’t recall. It’s been a while.
BTW: The new JVC 500/700 projectors are now “rear cooling” as compared to the previous - front cooling. If put on a bookshelf (which is my situation) how much space is required behind the projector to avoid over heating? Would you happen to know?
@@DavidSusiloUnscripted OUCH! (Fortunately, the shelf backs on to the HVAC room. Means I will have to install a drywall panel to create a pathway for the heat to escape.)
Well I tried DLBC as a 30 day trial and it is really night and day from standard Dirac. The bass is really tight and my two sub gains are at 8 o'clock with negative trims, and no need to raise the curve like before. Now between DLBM and DLBC I hear no difference. Is this because once I calibrate with DLBC if I use the same calibrated file it still brings up DLBC despite me selecting DLBM instead of DLBC and saving and transferring to the avr?
Nochmals danke
Hey David, i can't wait until you get your hands on the Valerion Visionmaster ( preferably the Max ) when they come out, and PLEASE do an in depth review! 👍🙏
Have you seen the JVC 500/ 700 in - actual use yet? Any chance when you might review it? Like the idea of “just video walls”, but what seems to be happening is that vendors are chasing the - high to very high “value” customer - and leaving the home hobbyist’s - behind? Granted, maybe not entirely . . . but it seems to be going that way? Was there - excessive heat - coming off the “just video wall” display? Like the build modularity. Resolves the issue of going up-or-down stairs and around bends in staircases not to even mention the overall weight of a singular unit like a tv. I have seen various huge led displays in the Toronto airport and other airports. Sure gets your attention, but it is not quite the same experience as projection.
@@marvinabugov4579 the ones at airports are regular LED walls. They run very hot. MicroLED is a lot better but still very far from ready for videophile usage. I saw the 700 but I don’t know whether I’ll do a review of that. JVC only offered me 1 week to do the review. There is no way I can do that. I usually spend at least a month with any of the Tv and projectors for review
@@DavidSusiloUnscripted JVC has a “hot” commodity on its hands and needs to get those units into the hands as many reviewers as possible? . . . or . . . it is not quite what they say it is? Excuse the skepticism. (Believe me: I prefer the former to the latter explanation, for sure.)
it´s the future of large display. Imagine a complete wall in your living room being a display. Imagine what you can do with it. A window to another world. Whatever you want.
Beekeeper is a good one. The best release IMHO is Devotion 4K. Noticeably better than the Atmos version with the Center Height contributing a lot; an all round excellent track.
I hesitated between these and the Kanto SX26 stands, and frankly no regrets in having taken the Kanto, finish, stability, robustness, and above all everything is included (2 supports depending on the size, foam to place the speaker, level , 2 sets of feet for hard floors or carpets, tilt adjustment, weight bag, etc.)
Hello and I also own the Panasonic UB 9000 and I have a question and my question is does it display or give notice to owners that there is a new firmware update or do we have to just regularly check to see if there is one just wondering thank you for your time!👍
@@DavidSusiloUnscripted yes we followed all instructions. In the App Store it only had Google app. I had to sign into. We will return it to Amazon. Thank you
Ppl saying taste has changed? I think ppl are nostalgic for childhood taste. But as we age and get used to things and can have them whenever we want. Our favourite foods always feel like they changed. The recipe and method for making burger rings has never changed.
SD is upscaled to 1080p or 4K only, if I remember correctly. Not to 8K. There is not enough information to be upscaled that much. Most upscalers and players upscale SD to 1080p too and then pixel quadrupled with dither to 4K, not a true upscaler.
I bought one to try against my WiiM pro. I prefer the sound of the node but the WiiM software is slightly better. Trade offs, but I am going to keep the Node.
Thanks for the Vid. Subscribed! One thing though. I was cringing so much when I saw the projector going into the black border. I would've thought you would do anything to get it perfectly aligned😁😁😂😂😂😂🤣🤣 (Especially your top-of the line JVC RS3100) . Anyway, thanks again but next time, get it aligned. I know I have no right to say this because I am amateur compared to you😢😢😢
@@equationzz3445 it’s all good. When I actually play movies, the image is perfectly aligned with 1-pixel accuracy. I did presets for 16:9, 17:9, 2:1, 2.2:1, 21:9 and 2.4:1. All criticisms are welcome! And thank you for subscribing
@@DavidSusiloUnscripted WOW! You really took the extra mile for basically all aspect ratios (I didn't even know 17:9 was a thing!) Kudos for doing all this. Is your screen a 2.35:1. If so what's your reasoning other then widescreen. It's because I mainly watch football (At least in terms of sports, football is mostly watched) and I use the JVC NP5. American Football is 16:9 and I don't really like the look of 16:9 on a 2.35:1 I currently use 16:9, but if I think your reasons for switching to a different aspect ratio is valid, I will definitely consider that. Though don't expect me to get a Stewart filmscreen, I'm not that rich :D
@equationzz3445 17:9 is actually DCP format. So Digital IMAX, for example, is in 17:9. If you watch any movie/TV with a sliver of black bars top and bottom, those are 17:9. Anytime you want to ask questions, ask away but don’t forget to tag me so RU-vid notifies me.
Hi David, I'm a big fan. I bought the Benq HT3560 solely based on your excellent review. I don't regret it one bit. Thanks for also educating me on HDR and SDR modes and when t o use them for which content. I was originally using HDR for everything until I found some content is meant for SDR. Anyway, thanks for doing this and I'm genuinely surprised that these companies don't sponsor you. You go out of your way to purchase these products just to educate us. Thanks! Is there any link to donate?
Thank you very much for the compliments. I’m glad that someone find it be useful. Thank you also beforehand for the donation. You can use the “thanks” button right below this video on the youtube app/site.
