i just got the news of how im in danger of full blindess by the age 40. im 20 right now and was wondering of what jobs i could do. picking a career was hard enough without disability now im at the starting point again. this was useful to a certain level and im grateful. wish there were more resources, help, podcasts regarding vision loss related career, education, all life necessities.

4 out of 1000 early diagnosed MD patients stopped themselves from progressing towards later stage MD while 78 out of 1000 stopped their disease progressing from the intermediate to the final stage. I’m just taking notes here.

Go get the studies she’s talking about and show them to your doctor. If they don’t have an explanation for why they presently disagree, and they don’t accept the studies then go get a new doctor. Or they do accept them and then congrats you just educated them. Sorry you’re dealing with MD. I believe you will get better!

How would one go about getting on/participating in one of these clinical trials (I'm in US)? Particularly the Vitamin A studies. I have dry MD, left eye much worse than the right.and myopic in both eyes. I have a lot of trouble in low light, can no longer drive at night. I do take Lutein 20mg with Zeaxanthin 1mg daily along with other multivitamins. I do get the complete eye exam with scans about every six months. Great video, thanks so much!

Risk free $60 Lamp that cures every skin disease. With new UVB LED lamps. With LED technology it is possible to achieve the exact wavelength that cures Psoriasis. This is not achieved with fluorescent lamps. With the new LED lamps the dose is 1/100, there is no redness in the skin, there is no need to increase the dose gradually and to wait 2 months to see the skin cures. The skin cures in one week. You can get a refund if the lamp will not cure you Psoriasis after using the lamp 2 months.

It's amazing to discover that this research is being carried out and making progress against our rare disease - I do hope that its monogenic nature helps make Doyne a good cadidate for continued research, and that this can ultimately be fiancially viable. Does Professor van der Spuy have a blog / newsletter for keeping up-to-speed on the research? Thank you, Macular Society, for supporting the research and for sharing the news!!

If so, how often can the eye transplant be repeated? And can I see with that eye for the rest of my life? Please reply. @macularSociety

Will looking at the sun during sunrise 🌅 help the eyes?
@lmyers9999
@lmyers9999 28 дней назад
yes - and no need to look directly- although the early sun won't hurt... but it penetrates lids and is also reflected everywhere - so you get red light indirectly really well... especially in forests as the plants don't use it and reflect it well..

Don't look directly at the sun, just facing in the general direction is okay, also red light reflects off a lot of things in nature so just being outside in the morning for 10 minutes may help.

Definitely better than any LED. Block all blue at night. Give it a try and let us know. Get 2700k led's or 3000k. But all artificial lights are worse than candles.

I have Dry AMD for 5yrs now and I do Eye Exercises and take Individual Eye nutrients daily and it keeps my AMD at bay. It works to stop its advancement. If I miss a couple days that AMD goes right back to disturbing my vision. Research a little and apply yourself and you can do the same. Research both and be patient for results for it took five months to get my eyes healthy to stop and reverse it some. My Eye Doctor approves and supports it. Getting shots don't do any better per my Eye Doctor. Be patient! 👍

Excellent talk and we look forward to the publishing the 2 year data. This has been presented at several international meetings. The results presented were very positive. There are also many other published papers on the subject which are also most encouraging. It is exciting times for A|MD treatments with so much research underway.

Since infra red passes deeply into tissue, can looking at a red light therapy light source with eyes CLOSED be even safer by pre eyelid tissue filtering for the best red spectrum transmission?

yes the recharging is from the inducted electro magnetic energy of the red light photons, at that angstrom frequency, matching some of the atoms of the molecules of the mitochondria. And in any way measurable an induction of energy without exchanging mass.
