Phil is a contemporary singer/songwriter who has earned excellent reviews from the national press, with his thought provoking songwriting and energetic live performances drawing comparisons to Neil Finn, Glenn Tilbrook and Ben Folds.
During his live shows, he makes a real connection with the crowd, whether it's handing out dozens of egg shakers, or passing around his "doodle book" for the audience to draw in. Every now and then you'll catch him unplugging his guitar and shunning the stage to stand right in among the captivated audience.

Fair enough. I was more using them as examples where the well known and catchy chorus is held back until later in the song. Do you have some example of classic pop songs you DO find interesting?
While most write the music first and then fit the words. I usually write the words first, often while the music is in some form, already in my head but not always.

Phil ; This is a work or art: Terrific Loveky bass line and interesting video: Your voice is great: It cuts through everything and that is great. Love the vocals effect too near the end. You sang "Four Seasons in one Day" at the Southgate .......SUPERBLY Well done keep going. Alan Swinburne
Thanks Hollyanne. I needed to learn how to sing backwards for that effect to work! If Jamie has his way, I'll have to learn a whole song backwards at some point.
Thanks Tony. Yep, all of my acoustic efforts are going towards The Lost Trades these days, which means I can play around with rockier stuff. ru-vid.com Those gigs at The Roaring Donkey were a lot of fun.
What a surprise - upbeat and foot tapping stuff from Phil Cooper - albeit with a message for our times. I love the music and the video kept my attention, fitting nicely with the tempo and ethos of the song. Well done Phil. Can't wait for the release of the album to hear more.
