We have always recommended that our boats should be used on small, inland lakes. The paddle boats will handle a small wave (less than 1'), but I would try to avoid any lakes or water with more than a 1' wave. As with any boat, it's advisable to "quarter" a wave than to let the wave hit you from the side. We'll have to get some video sometime--good suggestion--thanks!
For the rear rudder, when you say you don't want a 90 degree angle, you want it "like that", it's hard to see what angle "like that" is. Is it slightly more than 90 degrees?
Our two pontoon model has only one advantage, my daughter bought me a pull out ramp between the pontoons allowing us and others to walk off the deck right to the shore. Older folks that can't step down really love it. Wish the triple toons could come up with something like that 😉
I just push it back in with the tractor, I put board against the end to get an even push, It also takes 4 minutes to install. Some folks roll it on PVC rounds, it will slide easy on the PVC. Also some turn sideways and pull on the beach, you could also float it over to a landing or other spot to pull it out.
