This is an amazingly well writing book. It is also the worse book I've ever read and from what I've read of the author, she is either a bad writer or a bad person. This is not a heartbreaking look into trauma, this is a cliched and harmful message that suicide, self harm, and toxic relationships are the only answer.
Years ago, I became friends with an author I much admired, Drusilla Campbell, now sadly deceased. Her writing displayed such precise observation, such insight about human nature, and such luminous expression, not to mention wit, that being in her presence was intimidating. I feared she would see through the slightest pretense, snicker at the slightest obscurity or laziness. So whenever I was with her, I would sharpen up my attention and take care with every utterance. Helen Simonson's writing evokes the same reaction. How stimulating a friend she must be and, in her sweet genteel English manner, how imposing.

Watching this in 2024, and my god the audience asked some great and pertinent questions! It's unfortunate that he wasn't the right person to ask them to given he was mostly privy to the meetings of propaganda architects but not political or military decision makers. The guy who mentioned the "Russian identity" was really onto something.
This should have a billion views… it should. It’s an injustice more people refuse to view things from a different perspective. They want so badly to believe Israel is good. That somehow, although human, that they are incapable of evil. They want to believe that Judaism is the same as Z!onism. It is not.

Hitler was not alone … not at all .. Why did no one come to the rescue in more than 5 years ??? Why ? It was only when they saw that Hitler was losing against the Russians … then they came …. To cover up their crimes …. Did you know that after the world war USA paid high dollars to experiment on Danish children ??? Children who had no family left in orphan homes …. ? They continued the horrible things from the 2. world war …
Oh God I cant take it. This man gets Charlottes letters wrong peoples ages wrong and employment history wrong. WTF. I am sorry but I just cant take it. Many Bronte fans could write a better book. I am not trying to be nasty but he is crazy wrong

Nice lecture, but the gospel records indicate that Jesus was not nailed to a cross but staurow'd on a stauros, that is, pile-driven by a pale. He was lucid until the very end and right after he spoke or cried out with a loud voice he kicked the bucket, meaning he must have suffered a sudden, violent, and degrading death on some kind of stake. Either an impaling stake or a "piercing cross": an assembly of a stipes (pole), a patibulum (transom), and an acuta-crux (a projection/tower/excess of a seat).
