Hello and welcome to the Table! and at this table we play Flesh and Blood (Fab), Star Wars Unlimited (SWU), and Magic the Gathering (MTG). Every week I’ll upload 2-3 videos either talking about the latest news for one of these games, going over a deck I’ve recently built, doing a gameplay with that deck, or even going over the lore for one of the games (usually Fab). With all of these options I hope there’s something to entertain anybody and everybody that stops by. Enjoy!
Agreed, Mentor with a deck full of 1-2 drops with ETB effects and some anthem cards go hard. And with the high amount of low cost protection in white 👍 it’s easy to keep him around.
I've played a bit with Mark of Lightning, and it's great on a budget compared to Grasp. Great recommendation for an intro to Classic Constructed list. It does push more damage that is hard to mitigate because it isn't arcane, but it can't confirm on hit effects. Unlike Flick Knives and Hurl, it doesn't have the line of game text saying that the attack has 'hit', which is needed for damage happening before the damage step of combat.
Yeah sorry that’s been taking a while to come out. Schedules been packed lately so I’ve needed to change when I upload stuff a bit. It will be coming out tomorrow though I promise.
I'm new to FaB and interested in Uzuri. A question I have as a new player is: what token type to use with Death Touch against which heroes? Also, is the new Rosetta Arcane Barrier equipment with Spellvoid just better than the Nullrune set?
I’d say for decks you need to rush (Aurora, Zen, Kayo, etc.) generally make Bloodrot Pox tokens. If you need to give rangers especially or decks that set up (Guardians, Wizards, Illusionists, Florian, etc.) the middle finger normally go with Initeria tokens. If you’re playing against a Ranger who’s about to go wide, Warriors, or a deck that plays two weapons (Kodachi Katsu) then I’d usually give them a Frailty. Depending on the moment of the game you might want to give them a different token (like Bloodrot Pox in the endgame) but I’d use this as a general guide. As for the new equipment from Rosetta I’d definitely upgrade all previous Nullrune equipment with the new equipment from Rosetta if you can.
'Against decks that don't go super wide, which are going to become more common in Twilight of the Galaxy' Twilight introduces the keyword coordinate, which is all about going wide no?
Hey, hello! Wonderful video! Have been studying to get into Flesh and Blood, but I wanted to get the maximum for the buck for multiple formats, as I want to play with what each people have! I was thinking of Kayo since I have been seen he placed good in both commoner, blitz and CC. But in your opinion, which hero, young and adult versions, have the most interchangeable deck and are really good? Even if there is more expensive cards depending on the format, which one would you say that has this characteristic?
It does change to a point with each new meta (and bans if you’re playing Zen) but I’d say for the most part the most interchangeable decks that’d work for young and adult Heroes are either Kayo or Azalea. With the new Rosetta meta I’m not sure which one would be better for each given format but I’d imagine Azalea will continue to put out great numbers just because of the absurd interaction and scaling ability she has. However with Warmongers Diplomacy becoming more popular thanks to Runeblades new surge in power you may want to consider Kayo as he puts out about as much (sometimes more) damage than Azalea. He doesn’t have anything close to as back-breaking as the interaction Azalea has but he does have an absolute fridge of an equipment suite plus it won’t fold to the decks that play Warmongers Diplomacy. Both decks have pros and cons and honestly I think both would be amazing picks so it’s really just going to come down to whichever one you think is more fun to play since you don’t care as much about the cost factor.
One because I prefer AB3 and two because I still want this to be a budget deck which, when recording this video, Dyadic Carapace was not a budget friendly card.
miggs is better than you are giving him credit for, you can play him turn one discard and kill there turn one play and start off ahead and if they have more than one health you can tarkin town it immediately and just stay ahead, and you are also missing out on chaos of war, its an amazing closer and would argue having that over partisan enforcer.
Just got back from premier if you end up on a lightning hero it’s either because you had to or because you have the most cracked pool. It was by far worst than earth. Turns out a class with 3 for 7 is j better
I found that Incinerator Trooper never seems to work for me when I play this deck due to usually not having initiative. But I have found the Phase 3 Dark Troopers are amazing to stabilize the ground arena .
Yeah I’ve been trying to fix that. I know in the bottom right corner you can click the compass looking icon and it’ll take you to the page with the deck.
Tried getting into FAB but it never worked out (due to lack of new player support). Then Star Wars Unlimited and kinda put the nail in the coffin for flesh and blood for me. Now however, it seems like I can finally get into FAB with all the new player support (armory decks, 1st strike, etc)!
I know I’m so excited for everybody wanting to get into the game right now. All these new player products have made the game more accessible than ever before and can allow for more people to enjoy this amazing game than ever before!
This is fun! Just played Benji for the first time. Heads up that he actually wouldn’t have drawn 4 or 5 with that last spring tidings! You have to effectively close the combat chain to reenable double strike. He would’ve only drawn 1 :)
@@tablegamestcg i like edgy or imposing heros for example viserai or the tony stark which seems very cool but i just learned abouthe upcoming rosetta runeblade support if viserai would be B or A tier id totaly play this game
This list is based off of the all of the best competitive green lists for Sabine I’ve seen and it’s worked really well for me. Guys down at my LGS are really good players that often build the most tuned and powerful decks and this deck had little to no issues against them.
Beautiful doggie 😍 Excited to try FAB, I've been eyeing this game for some time but it's really hard to get your hands on FAB products where I live, guess I'll have to import some stuff soon MTG player only till now
I'm a bit surprised about the choice to not include 4-lom and zuckuss. I tried this deck and it seems insane, but i notice that lady proxima has not the impact that i expected. I should try to use 4-lom in x3 instead of lady proxima and maybe zuckuss in x2 and 1 bossk...but i'm not sure. Do you think this could be good? Thank tou very much for your content ✨
You’re welcome for the content. Not having 4-Lom and Zuckass is just a personal choice because Proxima and other cards I’d cut for those two are pet cards. If you like them I’d totally put them in because they are worth it I just don’t like them personally.
I did a similar blue/yellow 2-power deck in a sealed contest. Moisture Farmer is really good. If you do blue yellow, there's some good pressure; lady proxima can build up a lot of damage. But I've barely started playing this game, so take my ideas with a grain of salt. Is there no card draw? I love the U-wing card. Rose is great - is there a way to incorporate more shielding? Any upgrade synergies, since experience counts as an upgrade now? Also, consider gentle giant and perhaps other healing cards, since your have extremely toughness heavy cards. There's a capture green upgrade that adds 2 toughness that might be nice with some upgrade synergies.
I’ve thought about so much of this stuff. In my opinion Rey can be built in more ways than any other deck in Star Wars and this is a build I’ve really enjoyed. I’d expect down the line I’ll add different cards or upgrade her with cards from new sets. My best advice for you since you’re a newer player is to find a deck, build it how you want to, and improve upon and tweak it as you go. That’s the line I’ve taken with all of the decks I’ve ever built/played, and while they may not always be the best, they are certainly the most fun. Glad you enjoyed!
I'm going to give this a go, but I think I would replace Alliance X-Wing with Grey Squadron Y-Wing. You can boost it twice with Rey (to become a 3/5), but also has the forced extra 2 damage on attack.
@@tablegamestcg Why would you have to pay 4 for it? It's a heroism card, so only costs 2 in Rey. So same base cost as the X-Wing, but with the ability to boost it twice, plus you get the splash damage from the "on attack" ability.
Oh wait, I don’t know why but I thought you were talking about Green Squadron A-Wing for some reason. Sorry about that. But yes I have considered the Y-Wing and I am going to try it out the next time I’m at my LGS.
@@tablegamestcg I’ve been tldr spam texting my crew the last couple weeks trying to find a way to really articulate it. While I personally think the direction of magic sucks (I liked when magic was its own thing and only had stories and lore of its own) there’s no denying Magic is doing better than it ever has. It’s going from a niche interest to something bigger than it’s ever been and when anything gets that popular it will inevitably be molded by the fans. It’s just a shame that wotc is printing so many cards “for commander” because they’re homogenizing a format that by its very nature would never be really solved if they just kept printing with their competitive/1v1 scene in mind.
I agree with that. Magic IS doing really well because of Commanders success. It just sucks that Commanders success is ruining some of my favorite parts of Magic (in my opinion).
My first list looked a lot like this but later moved into an ambush theme. I think lady proxima is a trap. It sounds good but will ultimately do less damage overall then just playing another threat. I think shes great in limited though
It’s very close though. Boba’s only slightly better (at best) in my opinion. Sabine got a lot of powerful tools in this new set, more so than Boba, in my opinion.
Thanks for the deck tech, it's really interesting. I would suggest maybe taking more time to explain your choices instead of just saying "it's just a good card" for most of them. Keep it up!
Honestly it’s hard to explain why each card should be in the deck besides just saying these are all the most efficient cards out right now that do what this deck wants to do so I just said for a lot of them: it’s just a good card.
Honestly, Magic has been killed so many times at this point Liliana should get some better pay for the work she does. I don't really play 1v1 formats, as I felt pretty chased out of those all the way back in 2004. Proxies and Online play are exactly where I like Magic to be. It's kind of funny that you talk about so many, many people being on board with you, and agreeing - but then, you have 12 likes on this video. So unless you're gonna go with the "BUT THERE'S A SILENT MAJORITYYYYYYYY" logic, kinda falling apart there, chief.
Everybody I talk to about this topic in my area, people who have commented in this video, in past videos, friends, and more, agree with me. I’m glad you enjoy the game but saying there aren’t people who agree with me is just a lie because trust me when I say, there are way more people fed up with Magic than you’d ever be willing to admit. Am I wrong?
@tablegamestcg I don't doubt there are people who agree with you. But I doubt there's a majority on your side. I just had a very good Commander Night with a bunch of new players - all playing Universes Beyond, brought in by the product.
Agree to disagree. My area hasn’t seen any new players besides me in 5 years, all the LGS’s are cutting back on their Magic product, it seems more and more people online are getting fed up with the game. Commanders alive and well but people need to stop using it as an excuse for the game being “healthy”. A game cannot survive forever on one format. Yes there are other formats but answer me this: when’s the last time you’ve seen anybody in person or online (that’s not a RU-vidr) give a crap about something that’s not Commander?
@@tablegamestcg Well, I don't personally give a crap about the non-Commander formats. But that's been a thing for years. I stopped caring about them when I was a literal child.
Well there should be more than one healthy format in my opinion but I’m very happy that Commanders is in as good of a place as it’s in. I’m glad there are people in your area getting into and excited about the game. Though I have my issues with Wizards, those issues aren’t with the game. I want Magic to survive and I believe some things need to change for that to happen but right now I believe the game is doing just fine for itself. Down the road I believe other formats will need further support for the games long term survival but until that day comes Commander will continue to hold Magic high in the air as the longest lasting TCG and the one who started it all.
Been playing for over two decades and I hear this every few years. "X is killing MtG. MtG is dead/dying" and then a better ecosystem comes along eventually and the game keeps on truckin. I promise you the state of the game has been far worse before than it is now. Even if it was that bad, people dont have to engage with sanctioned play and the newest product if they dont want to or arent enjoying it. Make a cube you enjoy or plop down with your buddies for some THG when you get the itch to play or something. Kitchen table magic is always there and lets those involved make the game into something everyone involved can enjoy. There's nothing wrong with not enjoying the current state of MtG but people are way too quick to say its dying when it isnt aligning with what they enjoy about the game.
You know all that sounds great and I’ve played Cube and Commander and it is fun but it’s hard to get that many people together all the time. Plus MTG’s 1v1 formats suck in comparison to that of Flesh and Blood and Star Wars that are just superior in every way. Multiplayer is alive and well, yes, you don’t have to buy the new and bad product, yes, but eventually enough bad product made by a greedy company and playing way too many of the same games over and over again and the game will get very old very fast. I’m not saying MTG will die anytime soon, but if it keeps focusing on only making Limited and Commander fun, the game WILL eventually die. Until that changes neither will my opinion on the state of MTG.
@@tablegamestcg Then dont play the game you dont like? Come back when Magic is in a state you do enjoy, if it gets there. None of the arguments you made in your video or comments justify your initial premise or clickbait-ass title/thumbnail. 1v1 formats in Magic are far from being at the weakest they have ever been and there are enough variants that if you arent finding one you enjoy it probably has more to do with your LGS than magic itself. There are dozens of MtG formats (the vast majority of which are 1v1), even if you dont include online play. The idea that Fantasy Flight is any less greedy currently or that Legend will hold the good will they currently control is naive. These are all companies that will worry about their bottom line before your personal play experience. The only difference is WotC is publicly traded via Hasbro, and the other two would absolutely do so if they could get the market cap Hasbro affords WotC. Im not saying you arent entitled to your opinion but without a succinct argument why bother sharing it? You come off as someone aping jaded players you grew up around/watched on YT more than you do someone expressing an opinion youve formed from personal experience. Your failure to really address any of the counter arguments in the comments especially. "like thats some other people's and my opinion, man" is not an argument because you arent just expressing it, you are clearly trying to sway others to that opinion. Yes, MtG will eventually die, but it will be so far in the future that your video and the thousand others like it floating around are disingenuous.
I’m not trying to make people hate Magic, ok. I have opinions, ones you might not like, that I think will make the game better. Sorry if you don’t like them or the games I enjoy and am as passionate about as Magic.
Glad to see you more optimistic than I am. Edit: In my area nobody’s ever supported Pauper and very rarely do I see anybody do anything with it online.
Thank god those channels support it because otherwise nobody would even know what Pauper is. Or play it honestly for that matter because it is easily the best 1v1 format in all of MTG.
