Helpful video! Many thanks to the author of the channel for the recommendations! The problem with many people is that they want to take a "magic pill" or get "secret knowledge" and immediately have skills and abilities. However, the truth of life is that knowledge, skills, and abilities do not come by themselves. You can't learn a foreign language without doing anything, without wasting your time and effort, just like you can't learn to ride a bike lying on a comfy couch, listening to lectures and watching videos about "modern methods of learning" on a bike. To really learn something, you have to really practice every day. You're going to fall down while you're learning, and you're going to get bumps - that's normal! The ups and downs of learning are an integral part of our lives. Motivation from success and depression from failure will always be your study companions. However, every student has problems in his or her studies that he or she lacks the knowledge to solve. It can be: poor memorization of words; no progress in language learning; the student can speak, but does not understand speech by ear; misunderstanding of grammar; incorrect pronunciation, etc. Agree that a problem you don't know how to solve is very demotivating. In order to find the answer to our question we have to spend a lot of time to read videos, articles and books by polyglots. In today's world, we have to solve problems as quickly as possible. I don't have time to study and analyze a huge amount of information. My goal is to master the basic knowledge of a foreign language as quickly as possible and already start earning money effectively in the international arena. I settled on the practical guide by Yuriy Ivantsiv " Polyglot Notes: practical tips for learning foreign language". This book is always in my bag. If I have a problem while learning a language, I quickly find the answer in this book. There are many different techniques and tips for learning a foreign language in Polyglot Notes. I have made my own individual schedule and plan for language learning. Now I know what I am going to study, how I am going to study, when I am going to study and what results I am going to achieve. No problem could stop me! With an effective language learning plan my professional skills are more and more in demand internationally every day. Friends, don't stop there! Everyone has talents that millions of people around the world need! Learn the language and make your ideas and dreams come true! Thanks to the author of the channel for the informative and useful video! Your videos motivate me.
so so glad to find your channel. please keep making videos :) xoxo you are one of the few polyglots that i follow, well simply because there are so many polyglot channels, but i just have to be selective because it can get overwhelming! if you don't already know of her channel, i highly recommend language travel adoptee. she and you are currently my biggest inspirations!
Thank you so much for your very kind and encouraging words!!! I'm so happy and grateful that you feel inspired by what we have to share. Yes, I know Emily! We tend to meet up once a month along with Jess from Language Wanderlust on zoom :) I will do my best to film and post again soon, thank you and keep on going!!!!!!
as a fellow language lover who can feel quite, frustrated and like giving up a lot of times - i was so happy to see this video! THANK YOU for your inspiration! i loved hearing some of these powerful affirmations, and i will try to manifest my own language learning goals. this year i want to learn korean and i've been living here for 3 months now, but i feel like i'm making no progress and it's really frustrating me =( how are you doing and what languages are you currently studying, just curious :) thank you again, i'm so glad i found your videos!
That is so amazing that you're living in South Korea!!!! I am SO wishing you the very best and am rooting for you! I am so certain you will achieve all your language goals! Keep on going! Keep on being the version of you who knows Korean! You will certainly bring it into your experience 💗 I can totally understand feeling frustrated, but as long as they keep on going, know that progress is being made. AND it's also okay to take breaks. Sometimes, life happens. At the moment, I've dropped almost every language except for French and German. Hoping to make a video on that real soon. Progress, no matter how "big" or "small" is still progress. <3
When you feel burnt out, I would say don't force it. Try to focus on doing things that make you feel happy and being present. Think of yourself as a loved one and talk to yourself accordingly. Breathe, and take it one day at a time
hey gurl, love you ❤ glad to hear you're back and feeling better. anxiety is literally the worst, but you're so right - it's all about knowing you're there for yourself and you will get through it. btw your hair looks gorge 🥰 🤓
Thank you so much 😊 right now, it's hard to pinpoint as uni has been keeping me very busy, so I have not been able to dedicate as much time to language learning, but sometimes I'll listen to podcasts while on my commute or read books when I have some downtime. I'd say maybe 30-60 min a day because I try to split my time with other languages like German, but if I feel exhausted I give myself a break :)
Thank you so much for your kind words Emily. I'm so sorry to hear you experienced that! It's the worst feeling in the world, but so happy to hear you haven't experienced it since then. Thanks so much for your lovely comment :) ❤
This experience is happening to my daughter now on campus in the US. It is tough to be young and be not feel like you are fitting in, connecting with a roommate, being alone away from home. But it is not so unusual. Important to get counseling thru the school. Depression is real and can be helped.
I'm so sorry to hear this is happening to your daughter. It can be so challenging and feel lonely, and I really hope she is able to hang in there and get through this. She will come out better from this, and I hope she gets the help she needs. Sending you and her all the love, light, and good vibes of the world 💛 she is not alone
Tell me about it, lost my friend to cancer, my relationship went to the trash and immediately started a new one(hours) prolly cheated, lost my uncle today... Summer from hell.
Ruby!! Yay a new video from you!! I am so happy to see that you're back :) And all truths! I definitely needed this video and this reminder. Thank you! x
When you are more or less fluent in the language, you could "learn", in what they are interested. And when you learn English: The books are normaly cheaper than in your mother language. That's so in Germany.
Repetition especially at the beginning lay down such an amazing foundation for you in your learning, it will help you keep that foundation in your brain even when you take a break in my experience. I actually did not start out speaking from day one, I think it took me going through 4 languages for me finally to think ``maybe I am on to something by speaking from the beginning, lets try speaking earlier`` lol. Love having self conversations too and imagining my imaginary foreign friend is there😂
I have just seen this, so sorry! YT did not notify me 😒 but yes I hear people going about it differently. Some people don't like to start speaking immediately, and I can understand not wanting to learn how to speak the wrong way, but, I mean, I even make mistake speaking my native language 😂 it's OK to make mistakes! Plus, your imaginary foreign friend won't charge you 😂😂😂
Glad to hear you're continuing to be so resilient in the face of this crazy world! Yes, enjoy the journey for your own benefit, which is what matters the most in the end! Love you're progress with French, and the fact you're expanding into more advanced podcasts that match your interests! Sometimes I'm just tired of sticking with topics like "what did you eat today" or "what was your favorite memory" like I want to get down deep into different topics lol. Love you're doing that and your vibe of the video, looking forward to what's coming next :)
Yes, It can get a little boring having to learn the basics like what did you eat today, although it is important lol. But language learning definitely becomes more fun when you get to expand yourself into subjects that you're interested in. Thanks so much for your kind words and support 😊💛
