So interesting, for years i wondered why my italian violin had such uneven fholes . I think i found out why . This looks really close to mine, scroll ribs color style ..
Wonderful as always, and that violin by Giuseppe Odoardi is the first time I've ever really been able to easily see the difference in dimensions of a violin from others. Mind you, the thing's damn near a viola in length! Edited to add: Similarly the 1891 Melegari.
Interesting range of instruments, from different places and periods... Although I'm a bit surprised (and disappointed) not to see more from classical, 18th century, Venetian makers.
A relatively small amount of Stradivari guitars have survived: The ‘Sabionari’ (1679) - Private collection, Italy The ‘Giustiniani’ (1681) - Private collection, Italy The ‘Hill’ (1688) - Ashmolean Museum, GB The ‘Rawlings’ (1700) - Shrine to Music Museum, USA The ‘Vuillaume’ (1711?) - Cité de la Musique, France
When you open any violin, you'll see it's just a wooden box - nothing - and yet...... You'll wonder how something like that can be so valuable and produce so much beautiful music.
This is pointless. It’s so so old recording it’s impossible to tell the sound of violin. And you know what Heifetz said when someone told him after concert “Mr Heifetz, your violin sounds fantastic!”? He closed it up to his ear and replied “I can’t hear anything”… ;)
@@lostpoem1725if you forgot what was the title of the post and what was written there too… I refer to that. Can’t tell the violin sound here, so please don’t turn upside down what I wrote before and take responsibility for what you are writing. It’s discussion not battle to win in any cost. Actually I love old recording and have many including Heifetz’s. Read what you wrote there and what I responded. Have a nice time
@arturtarnowski4023 you have a nice time also I have no idea if the very early recordings were made on the tononi, or rather on the first strad Heifetz had in his possession which a benefactor loaned him. I do know he was playing the tononi during his breakthrough 1917 carnegie hall debut, a concert that took the world by storm and projected Heifetz into the stratosphere Since this video now has 15k views there is little point in me changing the track now, Heifetz fans love this track anyway
