Kane not making it in FM2014 makes sense, his PA probably wasn't that high back in 2013. I read a book on youth football in England written in 2016 and Southgate (who was England U21 manager at the time of writing) said nobody in the England set up thought Kane would make it at the top level and they were shocked when he started playing exceptionally when he got his first proper run for Spurs
Great idea Kev. Would be interesting to know how the teams got on in each version as a follow up. Also from a selfish perspective would be curious to know whether Scotland qualified in each version and their respective squads!

My euro 2024 England team was fantastic we made the euro 2024 semi finals got out of league B in the nations league and got a very easy 2026 world Cup qualifying group with the likes of Gibraltar, Moldova, Scotland, Bosnia. In the Euros we did get drawn into the group of death Germany, Netherlands, Ukraine beat Germany, lost to Netherlands, beat Ukraine.
Thin kthe best way to get around the Best issue would be to sing a player you like as an important or star player. I could be some scrub off the street just give him the star player moniker or important player. I'd then cut the player January....but I don't know if that works in this version of the game. On 23, it worked like a charm...not sure about if it'll work in this "most complete" version of FM.
