Table saw + cutting wood + dust collector = 107 dB. I measured with the same App. I reduced the noise to 70 dB in neighbours apartment. I built a room inside a room. All the walls are prepared with 22 cm thick noise reduction blocks. The inside room has no contact to the outside. This is how it works. For 10 sqm room only the noise reduction blocks cost me 3000 €. Greetings from Germany.

You can't use metal to shape wood, that's cheating! Great addition to the shop, looks like a lot of fun and super useful.

What about the noise? Did your neighbors complain? You are one of the most creative people on youtube. This was a fantastic build and a motivator for me.

I have watched a couple of your video and fine that I like what you do & how you do it! I have 1/2 of a 1 car garage as my workshop and am constantly on the look out for ideas to conserve/recoup space, even if I have to rework a prior project. In this particular video you mentioned that when clamping flat stock, face to face, that the parts tend to move slightly. I have been using a small amount of table salt to help with this problem. Glue, salt, align parts and clamp. I do have an occasional need to realign but no often. a salt shaker is part of my arsenal of "woodworking" tools. Now I have to decide if I should reword my saw table/assembly bench. Thanks Justin, Red

Who knows what would happen if you mess with electromagnetics like what they did? I don't doubt this actually happened.

I love a good example of K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid), and this is just what I have been looking for. A simple tool, that does exactly what I want, to accurately drill 1/2" holes in one of my wood projects. Can drill other size holes with it, but all I need is 1/2". Gotta see what else you make I might be able to use, so just subscribed. This is the simpilest version of a diy drill press, the easiest and fastest way to make one, the cheapest, and the most useful. Made my day, and then some. Thanks.

Nice job! How did you dimension the force of the gas springs? You can damp the closing with small rubber bumpers.

Cool idea but it takes up valuable room inside the cabinet. Hinges have been used for millenia for a reason.

the reason the dust shoot is working so well with the opening is because there is easy excess for air to flow into the dust shoe then up the exit tube to the vacumm

Two points. 1st those "future side walls" will add stability. And you did LOSE the storage of your bits on the inside of the door. 😂😂😂😂

Great project but it all should be external rater than internal. Sure You would have to change door face to be wider but you can have internal of the cabinet configured as you want and with same volume as before.

Love this build, but does lose that inner door face storage you had before.
@AlejAndro-zg7bz

as an upgrade of the system, it would better if it could operate in a space bigger than the carved for the piston, all in the same plane as the cabinet laterals, hinged by metal ménsula , in order to regain internal space
@squirts1

it's cool, but you do lose the on door storage and organizational space. It's also kind of a silly expense to install that hinge/lift mechanism IMO. You also could have cut the door in half and made 2 doors so opening them would take up half the space. Or open and slide doors so you could slide the door into the cabinet and still keep the on door bit storage, but not have the door hanging over your work surface.

8:27 Nice lesson in how not to use your CNC. Recently saw a video (and fell into a rabbit hole looking for that) that explains, that you can CNCing (or was it laser cutting?) better by using a bit of cheap sacrificial piece of wood (same size of your workpiece). You use masking tape (I think he mentioned it works only with one kind or that works the best) to the whole face of the wood and same for your workpiece and then apply superglue to the tape. Press both together. Now you can fully cut through your workpiece without leaving tabs.

Honestly I bet your dust shoe is functioning better with that opening then it would if it was fully surrounded. I have been thinking about leaving a gap on my dust shoe opposite the bit from where the hose connects. My theory is that if you create a hard seal against the table all the way around you are actually decreasing the flow of air and causing it to pulled somewhat equally from the entire circumference of the dust shoe. By having an opening on the far side of the bit you are maintaining the airspeed while simultaneously forcing the air to pull across the cut area. Sending all the dust up the shoe.

Cool, nice engineering, there seems to be a lot of negative comments? I think those people miss the point, wether it's better or not the designing and build I am sure are satisfying, and from a viewers persective very entertaining and informative. I have subscribed.👍
