Personnel is most likely; AH-Guitar, Jimmy Johnson-Electric Bass, and Chad Wackerman-Drums. They are playing a composition attributed to Gordon Beck, but Beck is not on this gig.

Amazing. For me, the most terrifying Shallow Sea is from the Bottom Line on 15th Sept 1984. This comes close, though!

What about the one he did with vinnie colaiuta in San Antonia in 1988?

The middle section is Allan's own tune "Drifting Into The Attack" aka "Gas Lamp Blues".

If there was a musician way beyond anyone else on his given instrument it was Allan holdsworth.and to witness it live was a surreal experience.

I saw Allan play live on stage ca. 6 times in a time span of 30 years. And each time he left me like being run over by a freight train.

This is some of the most incredible playing I've eve😮r heard from Jeff! He always told me he felt he played his best at the early gigs with M. Stern at the 55bar. Darn, he sounds just incredible here! What a loss for the music community. :-( r.i.p. Jeff Andrews

Lovely. If you had a drummer to play with it would be really awesome. I have always felt that a lot of Allan's music should lend itself to an acoustic quarter format with piano and sax, now I'm even more sure about it.

Thanks for listening! I really want to do more - it takes a lot of time - as you can guess Allan's tunes are not to be taken lightly - but it will happen! stay tuned

Nice job! I enjoyed your "Shallow Sea" arrangement and liked this version as well. I thought the solo section starting around 1:30 sounded great. Would love to hear more...how about a version of "Three Sheets to The Wind?"

The next one I might tackle is "Looking Glass" but I love Three sheets too! Thanks again for listening and I hope you share it with fellow Allan Fans.
