I like the Image, it's humanity fighting and struggling against a wild and way stronger nature, ready to snap out the last civilisation with ice and snow.
This track did make it, but the beta soundtracks sound very different from the official versions. This track was its own track in the beta, however it's the finale to "Old City, New Faces" officially
Playing this game after playing the first game is so damn cool, seriously they did well on this game, and that’s rare, for a dev team to stay true to their games roots and keep their standards up, it’s rare in the gaming industry and for that so long as they keep it up these developers will always have my respect and support.
I personally think both soundtracks are about as good as each other, but it's like trying to compare apples to oranges. They're both meant to convey different things, so comparing them to eachother is very difficult. I think they both portray what they were trying to go for very well.
@@demonicflames1678true. But from personal preference, to just listen to them while doing other stuff, i prefer the soundtrack of the first game as well.
@@demonicflames1678 FP 1 is about survival more than politics, so the emotion conveyed in the osts are...purer, easier for the listener to understand and resonate with. FP 2 on the other hand, the OSTs reflect the relationships between multiple factions and their complex motivations playing tug-of-war in the soundtrack. Personally I also prefer FP 1's soundtrack for that desperate, raw emotional purity. FP 2's OST is over the place because of the nature of the game's setting, it's very fitting, but I also find it much harder to enjoy as a result.
Everyone and their mother posted the soundtrack already. I was late to the party not knowing the game came out already. But as I think about it, more eyes for the beauty of the soundtrack of Frostpunk 2 is a good thing. So I will keep my upload, and whatever revenue kicked up to the big skipper as it should.
music 101 : how to make different music but feels the same... Leitmotif. this main menu just hooked me i remember sitting for 10 mins in main menu to listen to the music, and prepare to throw away every bit of my humanity before starting the prologue... Also yes, casted away the elders and eat sealion... i cried...
I have to say, having heard the official version now, I slightly prefer this one. There's a few adjustments to the levels of different instruments, and there's some changes in delivery. Obviously its a lot cleaner and nicer overall, but I really do feel like that lost... something? Maybe it wasn't as perfect a delivery, but that imperfection really added something. It's all super minor in the long run, but 1:30 especially in this version feels like there's almost a hesitation, a forceful weight when the horns enter, like a minute slowdown of the tempo. It really adds some gravitas - a literal depiction of force or fatigue in the effort like the arrival of the storm itself. Clearly everyone performing was savoring the moment as much as we did!
Alrightie folks the release has happened for the folks that spent money on the deluxe version (me, lmao) Comparing this with the main menu theme we got in the files right now, and my god the final version of this track feels so much more grand and fleshed out. The delay on this game's release definitely gave the developers more time to cook, both with the music and the game itself. May New London and her colonies prosper, good luck Stewards
@@udaysharma3951 The steam soundtrack is currently bugged, the best example of this is if you try to play track 19 "The Engine That Keeps Us Alive" which goes for 4:34, it will instead play something that is 1:47 long (Here Stands New London)
