what if you were to use medical gauze like they use for wrapping injuries? It comes in rolls and may not be cost effective but it woud probably be more similar to the ridged wrap to start . If you used it as a first layer then the strips of fabric it might work out .
@@sammy4395 I'll have to research that. Two people on the rigid wrap video said they used rigid wrap in the hospital to make casts. Maybe they meant they used something similar to rigid wrap? My channel is mostly about inexpensive ways to craft, so I'm always looking for the cheapest way to go, if possible. I'll go look for that and compare prices. Thanks for the tip!

This is what plaster casts are made of. Used it decades ago to make puppets by covering a blown up balloon with the strips. It was available in about 2 to 3 inch wide strips in rolls. Love the stuff!!
@@cathykrueger4899 I had never heard of it but stumbled across it at the goodwill. Being the thrifty crafter that I am I had to get it. It was definately easy to use and I hope it helps someone else that has never heard of it.

It's never too early for Christmas Crafts! True crafters need time to gather supplies and do the work. I make Christmas crafts all year long and gladly welcome new ideas!

If you don't already have chicken wire look in the description for a link to some $5 rolls that are 10 ft long 24 inch wide. I think 2 rolls would make a person.

As for getting the black or brown tip coloring just use a little acrylic paint on a paint brush or u can use eye shadow or other powder & just rub the snowy owl in it lightly to get a little color.
Hi! They're so cute and I did exactly what you said, though I had to add a tiny bit more to the legs. Mine measures 1 1/2 inch from top of ear to the bottom of the foot. I was wondering how long yours are because they looked bigger from the video. Are all pipe cleaners the same length now, I'm wondering? 😊
Mine are usually about 1.5-2" long. I have made some larger by cutting the pieces longer. My pipe cleaners are 12" long. I just happened to have them sitting here because I have a request to make a snowy owl.

That’s a great idea. The beach theme and the sand castles and beach themed sand molds formed from concrete(inexpensive medium). Nice. I’ll be trying this out for my kids to paint instead of sanding; then gifting to both grandmas, a few friends, neighbors. Lovely video and thank you for sharing. I’m too nervous to post a video of myself so kudos to you for putting yourself out there and teaching us something creative and fun. 💕
Thank you, I love it when people try my craft ideas. You should post a video or two and soon you lose the nerves. My first videos I didn't show my face, just my hands and talking. But it's gotten easier, now I don't worry about it.
