I was invited by a hunter friend to shoot some skeets one day. I had never shot a shotgun before. He grew frustrated when I hit every single and double throw skeet(s) with a 16 gauge "trash" shotgun he lend me. Then finally offered me to try his new 12 gauge, and I did pretty well with that too. Maybe I have a knack for this...
Yet there are tacticools who think they would have dominated the old west with their glocks, instead of just being an interesting trophy for them. And goes to show, if you train enough with a revolver, it works as well today in self defense as any semi-auto, as it did back in the day. Old != obsolete.
My good buddy and I went skeet shooting one day. He brought a shotgun he had never fired before; I think it was a Mossberg 500. I brought my Model 12, which I consider my favorite shotgun. I was relatively accurate with it, and so was my friend with my Winchester. It has a longer barrel and a Weaver choke compared to his shotgun. He offered for me to try shooting his shotgun, and I started with a couple of misses but eventually got used to it. When it was his turn to shoot, he kept missing and growing frustrated. I noticed his face looked like he was trying to solve a complex formula or something. I told him, "You need to stop overthinking it and just shoot." The next thing you know, he stopped missing.
We are so fortunate that Jim lived in an era where his wisdom could be captured and preserved in video in addition to print, and now digitally. Years after this presentation was filmed; years after his passing, everything he says still rings true although the landscape has changed and now there are fewer with badges, more predators, and in many places, more citizens carrying firearms who also need to hear this.

@dkjngl1 ptdunk did it best. the air pistol master. his review of this pistol and its lineage is unbeatable. his series on recoiless air pistiols, starting with the oppesed piston dianas, the dawn of Olympic quality, is awesome. the sledge system of this pistol came shortly after, and held its own from the mid 60s til the early 80s. the last of the FWB 65/80, was the electronic trigger version, the 90. His video on the 90 pretty much kills it.
I have searched. Unfortunately, I haven't found anything by Cooper discussing the scout or any others. I have commenters claiming to have knowledge, but I have not been able to confirm anything as fact.
Working with Jim was always a blast; he had a great sense of humor and always had your back no matter what. I felt just as safe with him as I did with my fellow Marines in Southeast Asia.
Note this company is known as Dan Wesson Firearms today, and is foreign owned; I was confused by the title as "Kelly Wesson" doesn't yield any results, and it certainly wasn't Smith and Wesson.
Thank you, this is true. Dan founded in 1968 in Monson, Mass. After his death in 78, the company went through several owners until bakruptcy in 1990. The facility in Palmer, seen here, was back in the hands of the Wesson family with Seth as CEO. It operated from 91 to 95 until another bankruptcy. In 96, Robert Serva/NY intl. corp. purchased the company and moved to Norwich, New York. In 2005, Dan Wesson was acquired by CZ-USA.

This was great! The way Johnny says "Massa-toohshets" instead of "Massachusetts" is priceless. We both enjoyed the behind the scenes and outtakes especially. (my uncle) met Johnny several times at SHOT show and other events. We've been watching old episodes of the shootin show, it's a great slice of an earlier time when I was a kid. My uncle has all this crazy lore about the firearms industry. I never get tired of hearing about it. Thanks again
