I’d say it depends on surface your painting.. but for cutting in tops I use a 4 inch block brush .. either a purdy . Wooster. Or corona. My preference is corona but they can be expensive.. if cutting in a knockdown texture you will want to use a stiffer brush. For trim I use a 3 inch sash either a corona or Wooster. It’s preference on what you feel more comfortable using. Some people will use sashes for everything and some will use blocks . Me personally I use both..
To go into more detail.. few reasons why I paint j channel is because I caulk it to the stucco and you should always paint your caulk lines.. and painting the j channel gives you a nice straight line instead of trying to cut in a line on the rough texture.. so the overall look is better a lot cleaner not to mention faster.. hope that answers your question!! 😄
@@letstalkpaint5955 I mainly ask because I do the same thing and I always get harassed about it. So many people have told me that I'm wrong for doing it that way.
@@unsanctionedchaos2994 yea man stick with what works in my opinion.. for me it’s a no brainer. I’d question the people telling you different seriously would make me think they don’t know what there talking about. From experience you already know it’s faster easier and looks better.. so I’d like to hear their argument against it 😂!! My uncle was a 30 year painter and trained me when I started at the age of 16. He was a damn good painter and very knowledgeable. So I didn’t just make this stuff up it was technique and skill taught to me. So I’m pretty confident in telling someone it’s the correct way. I’ve been painting 20 years now and always done it this way. Anyways thanks for the comment and taking the time to watch my reel . Hope you like the content I’m new to this stuff and trying to get a channel going to teach painting tips so if you could I’d appreciate a like and subscribe and tell people about the channel. Really hard to get my videos watched!!
