my question is how many of darth's minions were force choked to death when he returned to the ship ,I can see it now ,damn Darth got his ass whooped, ,,,,,, wait wait, I did t mean it
....did the writers forget that vader said that last they met he was the student? what is continuity?! god this era of star wars is nostalgia bait trash holy mother of god, i just watched up to 2 minutes and a half and this absolutely horrible camera work.
I didn’t catch it the first time I saw this scene where Obi-Wan cuts Vader’s helmet at the end of the fight, but you hear Vader coughing as trying to get his breath and it makes your heart go out for this guy as you realize what a terrible state he’s actually in and then the conversation those had after that just topped everything off, Anakin is gone, I am what remains Obi-wan apologizing nearly in tears and then between mechanical and organic voices was very powerful
This entire scene is almost perfect! The only thing that bugs me is when Obi-wan easily lifts an insane amount of boulders and shoots them at Vader. It goes beyond what we have seen demonstrated by George's version of Obi-wan and the force. I always think of George saying "The force is not a super power" when I watch it. It would have been better if Obi-wan grabbed the rocks one at a time and hurled them at Vader, showing some effort behind it all. That would have had the same impact with a more believable method in the realm of Star Wars. Other than that, I absolutely love this entire encounter!
Man, lets all admit, george lucas came up with a great story, but wasnt a great script writer or director of actors. I didnt think a lot of hayden christiansen, but god damn, give these folks a good script and good direction, and they knocked it out of the universe. Loved this scene.
bro thought he could best not only one of the best defensive lightsaber swordsman but one of the strongest force Jedi. Anakin's rage and lust for power blinded him.
Is interesting though how the fight turns out, at the beginning, Vader is using 1 hand and going all out offensive, as the fight progresses he needs to use 2 hands and be more defensive, yet with Obi wan, it is the opposite, all out defense and using 2 hands, but by the end of the fight, he is using the saber with 1 hand and going all out offensive
@ashm4938 that's the magic of Obi Wan, he studied Darths new style and learned it. He did the same in Ep1 with Maul, and although knocked out, he did much better against Dooku the second time. He's an observer
I wish it was darth vader from the comics obi wan would have been mauled everyone forgets vader has like a hulk power the more angrier he gets the more power he has
5:46 is my favourite part. Vader does that telekinetic block into a kill strike that he used just a second ago on that Inquisitor. He tried that again with Obi Wan who countered the kill strike by collecting Vader's blade with a spin and deflecting it. I think it shows that Vader has been winning by absolutely over powering opponents for years and hasn't come up against battle hardened Jedi Master in perhaps a decade. Brute force and quick tricks don't work.
I hate this portrayal of Vader, a petulant and impulsive bag of cruelty. Yes, Vader was cruel but he was rarely impulsive. Also whoever is doing lightsaber fight choreography for Star Wars needs to be replaced cause it was horrible not just here but the sequels as well as Ahsoka and the Mandalorian shows.
It’s sad to think that underneath that suit and burned body used to be a brave Jedi who wanted to make the world a better place only to end up twisted and corrupted loosing anything that remained of Anakin leaving him an empty emotionless shell of his former self to be controlled by others to do their bidding.
I can only imagine Obi wan held back a little but dude I would love to see Obi wan use his full power. He could have destroyed Vader but he's too good for that. That was awesome
Why at the 2:43 mark and in the thumbnail does it look like Kenobi is holding an oar? Double over hand grip. I'm not an expert in sword fighting, but that looks all wrong
It's sad that they forget how a lightsaber works 😓 in the oldschool episodes of star wars they have done it right it can slice luke hand off and count dooku head off and obi wan slice anakin in 2 when he says I have the high ground it's no way you can stand up when a lightsaber hits you on the back 😓
Anakin's brief and simple statement that he killed himself, meaning he killed his previous personality, was more gutting than any speech ever could be. That gave truth to the statement by Obi-Wan Kenobi in Ep4 that Darth Vader killed Anakin. When a force-wielding individual gives himself to the dark side, they must destroy their former self. That is the hardest part of becoming a Sith Lord.
