Ngl my favourite character in dragons rising is arin cuz i feel like i can relate to him in soo many ways, i have autism and i feel like im weak and ill never do anything great 😢
He’s like Ninjago’s Batman other then the fact that Batman is most likely a better fighter than every single ninja on the team since he defeated like the greatest assassins and trains till his peak and is able to fight superhuman beings like Deathstroke, Titan formula bane, Solomon Grundy who’s basically a undead Hulk, Ra’s Al Ghul, he’s actually fought Green Arrow before, and has fought deadshot. Batman has contingency plans that allow him to beat the Justice league if they go rouge.
I remember when Orochi said that one of the vessels of Oden was a spy. I didn't know who it was (i didn't know it was about to be revealed aswell) so i sat back to try and think...who could the spy be... as soon as orochi knew Tokis powers were real, i knew it had to be one of the time travelers. So Kin, or Raizo, or Kanjiro...i thought about what they were doing. Kin was endlessly desperate, i would feel very bad if it was kinemon, then i thought about Raizo... and how he was tied up in zou, in tears as his friends died... didn't make sence either...kanjiro was just chillen in dressrosa not rly careing...just sleeping and eating... my jaw dropped... it made alot of sense to me like an epiphany. This mf was JUST SLEEPING AND EATING ... kuf that guy, i thought about how he joined oden... he just walks up and joins essentially, seemed so weak i knew i was sure...i told my friend i figured it out...then like an episode later it was revealed.
Arin being powerless is such a great thing he feels useless because he can’t do a complete spinjtzu and has no powers and this makes me want to root for him even more.
To be honest, I thought his power is the element of spinning itself. Like he has a deformed spinjutsu technique because he was was unconsciously utilizing his power to make it happen. His object spinjutsu were all spinning towards their destination. We heard there is a source dragon of motion, so spinning is a possible element.
s2, part 2 SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Agh, anyone saw his spinjitsu? The red and black around it? I have have feeling he's gonna learn to do shatterspin naturally.
season 2 part 2 spoilers we did see a bit of the shatterspin effect when frek taught arin ras's teaching and ended up helping him to do a perfect spinjitzu tornado
SPOILER 🔴🔴🔴🔴🔴🔴 Arin was manipulated by Ras, although he could make the spijintzu better, it is noticeable that it has a shatterspin brightness 😨. I saw in a comment that the reason is that Arin forced and did not seek harmony and movement (motion), to the is desperate to find his parents (Sora mentions it in the first episode of the second season), his low self-esteem and anger, I think that’s the reason he couldn’t move forward with the spinjitzu before (find harmony in it) Lloyd has tried to be a good teacher for the 2 (sora and arin), this time he couldn’t be with arin for the fact that they had to win the tournament but I know that he cares about him and that this will help Lloyd improve as a teacher and be his own teacher (Season 1 shows that he wants to be like Master Wu; not asking for help is an example of wanting to be like him. Arin will be good again when he learns from his mistakes and finds peace in himself.
It could be interesting if they were the same character. If the show was redone, I think both Nelson and Arin could be combined into the same character named Arin Nelson.
Something I kind of noticed with Arin is just how adamant he is with trying to reset the status quo to something he is most comfortable with; he wants to return to the past with his parents. It seems as if this goes against the show's whole theme about "Finding one's place in the universe's motion", something that Sora clearly learned at the end of Season 1. Look back at his first visits to The Cloud Kingdom and The Administration - in both instances, he begs desperately for the people there to help him bring back his parents. To me, it shows off an interesting point in the Lord Ras' fallacy of strength; to him, strength is the only thing that can get him what he wants, and that he must force the universe to bend to his own will in order for things to go his way. It feels as if Arin would eventually cave into the same temptations that Ras did, where he will eventually snap and cave into the temptations of bending the universe to his own will just to live in the past with his parents again. In fact, Arin's own Object-Spinjitzu is a perfect example of this mentality. In all three successful instances of Object-Spinjitzu, notice how Arin doesn't try to force the move to happen, he just treats it as a natural ability. And we have seen how powerful this move and mindset is, if it can straight up penetrate through Beatrix's mech, a mech designed to resist Elemental Powers. And yet, in _Rising Ninja,_ he desperately tries to force his Object-Spinjitzu to work in order to save Nya, resulting in Sora having to save both him and Nya because that move would not have worked with that forceful mindset. If anything, this hearkens back to something learned in the 2011 Pilot Episodes; the moment when Jay finally discovers Spinjitzu, he describes the process to the other three Ninja that he's simply going through the motions of Spinjitzu, like he always knew the move. In essence, Spinjitzu isn't just some martial art that involves actions spinning fast enough to become a powerful tornado, it is also a style of life - a mentality that allows its user to persevere through the darkest of times.
I think you've nailed it on the head! Arin is surprisingly resistant to the idea of change because letting go of his parents and having to live with this new status quo is incredibly difficult. In many ways his thoughts do align with Ras' ideals more than Lloyd's more patient and long-term approach to solving issues. Really like how you talk about the more spiritual side of Spinjitsu here, Dragons Rising has really turned it into more than a cool move, it's an entire philosophy of perserving and finding your place in the universe.
As a person with high functioning Autism, I feel like I have the potential to be just like my peers, I can never do the things they do (Socialize, maintain a relationship, be independent). Arin's lack of elemental powers really resonates with me, and I really empathize with his envy of others and inability to see his own skills (Self-teaching himself Spinjitzu).
In season 2 part 2 Arin is depressed to find his parents and for elemental power, perfect spinjutstu. Sorry if I make typo in English because I'm from Indonesia
Your English is great! People always apologize for their grammar when they aren’t a native speaker but many don’t realize that most Americans have WAY worse grammar than you.
Je isn’t really desperate for an Elemental power u mean yeah he really is sad to not have one but he isn’t trying to do anything to have one he more likely want to become powerful on a other way mastering Spinjitzu and be a really really good fighter like ras who mopped him in their encounter in season 2 part 1
Great video geo. Your structure have come a long way. And now your delivery is also becoming better and better. Im looking forward to more videos in the future 😊
Hi all! Please make sure to tag or hide spoilers for Dragons Rising Season 2 Part 2! I will be deleting any untagged spoilers until the season has officially released!
Kanjuro was not sus. YOU are the one sus for sussing Kanjuro that hard. Literally no one from early 2010s and no one reading clean had those reactions. One Piece teaches us loyalty for nakama, especially these samurais, especially after being shown what Raizo did. There was zero reason to think that out of the blue someone among them is a spy.
Is this reaction actually clean? Find it weird to have such doubt for an ally. Does he doubt a lot of characters normally? Literally no one ever got that during the weekly read. Kanjuro wasn't really sus from the get go, no? There was zero reason any of them would be sus. It is normal in OP that characters are quirky. Chat gave it away there was "something" about Kanjuro.

I genuinely feel betrayed. The most obvious plot twist and turncoat betrayal... So fucking obvious, that I literally said to myself. "There is no way that Kanjuro is a twist villain, look at how much he cares. Sure he may be a bit of a complete failure and a buffoon but... *HE IS ONE OF US.* The man is just like Ryunosuke . He's trying his very best and his frens are there to encourage him!" I will never forgive him for what he did to Ryunosuke! I TRUSTED KANJURO! *I CALLED HIM NAKAMA!*
i just realized while watching this a MAJOR clue to kanjuro’s identity that i don’t think i’ve ever seen anyone catch before: he states in the panel revealing his design that his devil fruit prevented him from running out of food, with the implication being that he made the lettuce he was eating. the perfectly-well drawn, normal lettuce. we’d already seen the man make photorealistic art before he even drew that crappy bird
Amazing analysis! Viren is by far my favorite character in the show, and your video definitely does him justice. A lot of what you say about him in arc 1 is backed up by the novelizations of seasons 1 and 2. I especially loved what they did with him in season 5, and how they show how his children are his last link to what little humanity he has left. How Viren had once committed some horrific dark magic to save Soren from a deadly illness as a child This confirmed in the novels, and this is also the main reason his wife left. I think this is part of why he’s so cold and distant toward Soren later in life. And I do like how in the end, the thing that pulls him away from dark magic is the same thing that first drew him to it; his desire to save his children. I would love to see more analysis into his relationship with both of his children, but especially Soren.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! Viren's actions in season 5 were some of the most engaging parts of the entire show and I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking that. I'm still new to the Dragon Prince fandom so I've not had a chance to read the novels yet but I might have to give them a shot! I'll see what I can do about analysing Viren's relationship to Soren/Claudia, family is such a key part of all of their story-lines and I'm sure season 6 will continue to show how Claudia's isolation from family/friends will lead her further down the road of Dark Magic.
kai is my favorite the way he is he would give anything and everything for anybody and he is the best big brother and best friend he's the best father his jealousy made him the person he is today we know lego messed him up after season 8 but I still see the strong ambitious fun but broken boy he is just the best ninja overall🥹
