I love what you've done here, the paint scheme works very well. The model looks great! One thing though, That crane is way too small to lift that transformer. You would need something like a 200 ton crane to do that in real life. But for general yard & lineside work that model works well. Thanks for the video.
Just saw this video pop up in my feed - Thanks for posting! Looking forward to seeing what you do with the airbrush. BTW - You're right about collaboration🤝
Very cool addition Don! Love that Sperry car. The Motorman will be perfect for your track cleaning train. I also think you need a 2-3 car MBTA passenger train to run back and forth. One new project always crease 3 more :)
That's cool, Don! Do you think you can integrate that feature into your ops sessions, having to work with random traffic? Your tidy electronics and wiring look sharp! I agree that it is nice having something running on the layout while doing some work.
Wow that's nice. I know it was a lot of work. And the street transition to the backdrop is perfect. I am amazed at the lack of a simple, realistic, modern plug and play grade crossing solution.
Outstanding work and craftsmanship Don! Your commitment to the prototype paid off. I love the lighted gates, but more impressed with how you scratch built the whole thing using various kits and parts.
Thanks for posting the layout update. The layout is looking great. That is a smart idea to use magnets to hold the fence gates closed. I can't wait to come back down and operate on your layout again.
Wow pretty cool. You must have a background in IT. Have you tried OBS software? You can record your computer monitor directly, it's a lot cleaner and sharper. Very impressive. Love the radio chatter. Take care - Bill
Great solution Don. I've been trying to think of a way to do this, I just kept thinking of a pencil tied to the clipboard with a string but that looks so cheesy. I'm gonna try this. BTW you can make your own custom-sized clipboard if you have a piece of MDF or Masonite, and a binder clip. Take care - Bill
We use an FRS radio plugged into a computer that’s running Skype. The remote dispatcher can key up the radio because the radio attached to the pc is set on VOX
Awesome stuff Don! I'm not really a RU-vid guy, but this is great! I feel like I'm at the layout in person getting an update from you! Keep them coming!
What a great job the scenery looks really good on your layout thanks so much for sharing your ideals with me I can't wait to see what you got going next
Your layout is amazing. You've done such a great job with scenery, detailing, structures, trackplanning, weathering, signals, wow... I love it. Thanks for sharing
@@toddarmstrong.trackside.action Thank you for your kind words. I really enjoy my modeling and sharing with other modelers. Hopefully others get something out of it like ideas and such. Operations is my passion really . It’s great to see all the hard work come alive with fellow operators.
All the backdrops are from www.larcproducts.com/ I printed them out on matte photo paper and used an Avery permanent glue sticks And applied them using a 1” wide wallpaper roller. I also use a pencil and run up the side edges to hide the white so when you put them together they blend in better.
@@IMRROcom Temu . They are very reasonable and quality stuff. The trees are plastic but are grainy and have metal in the branches so you can move them around and with a little effort you can make the trunks more realistic and the leaf is just like woodland scenics clumping. Definitely worth the money. I just bought 60.00 worth of the grass tuffs.
