This is easily one of the most shocking moments in a pilot I've ever seen. You're led to believe that this will be a cat and mouse game all throughout this season, and then this happens.... and you're just left in shock and wanting to see what happens next.
Exactly. The audience members who’ve been around the block may be thinking “Oh, ok, this is just another cop show where the young, male, protagonist goes undercover to bust a scumbag. We saw it with Miami Vice, we saw it in Wiseguy, and now [Vic kills Terry] WOAH!!!!!!!”
@@adman1381 You won't find much love for snitches in most police or sheriff's departments. Of course, more and more misfits are being hired making me happy I'm retired.
@@blakefrenick203doesn't change the fact that it didn't win, usually when a show is above average regardless of other series airing in the same period it stands out over the others, which The Wire didn't do.
Maybe he was just faking it, or didn't really think about it, Terry was just the New guy, he wasn't an old friend or anything, Shane always was very loyal to Vic and obviously agreed on doing this at some point (i don't remember the episode) Shane started to feel terrible and worrying about the consequences in the aftermath of the killing
It's been years, but I still know this show like the back of my hand. Vic had the ability to convince Shane it was logically correct and therefore okay to kill Terry. Shane's mind was fine, but his heart wasn't ready for the guilt, but that would be after the fact. Here, he's just having fun with Lem while his mind is at peace and ready for the job behind the job.
