They were the first Neptunes. Not anymore Trap is killing hip hop and R&B. You got white folks making neo soul and good R&B while all black acts sound the same and do it over the same beats. It sucks.
This is a snippet of the slightly longer interview w/ Ebony. In keeping up a Teddy Pendergrass timeline, This interview must have taken place in 1988 when Joy was released or shortly thereafter. He married Karen Still in 1987 & he dedicated the album to her, so late 1988 is the year I’m choosing. It’s too short but it’s a nice, calm & revealing interview.
Why is this only 30 seconds? I've searched for a longer clip, but can't find anything online. How nice that you knew June Pointer personally and was her confidant.
