It all started with the ambitious Norwegian entrepreneur and industrial designer Bård Eker, who created Eker Design in 1985. Bård and his passionate team created everything from innovative video projectors to designing and developing supercars for Koenigsegg. The guy who loves speed later on took over Hydrolift, who manufactures high quality boats. Believing that nothing is impossible he was now ready to create a boat that would make him a world champion in Offshore-1. He succeeded.
Bårds ambitions kept growing and so did his team. Today Eker Group is Scandinavias leading player in product and business development, and also include Eker Performance, Hydrolift Smart City Ferries and EpiGuard. And every day we are working on new exciting ideas and products.

Too slow and too unstable, you almost lost it on a basic turn. Back to the drawing board, either make it wider or deeper or both and for Gods sake mpre power!! Should be hitting 60knots minimum or youre just like all the rest. . . .ba ba ba booooorring.
No way will solar/ battery power could ever realistically replace the ICE that is the large marine diesel engine to power ships of any kind let alone the huge power demand of a cruise ship with thousands of passengers on board. Auxiliary power units and generators will also always be diesel. The internal combustion engine fuelled by hydrogen is the answer..
This boat was developed in cooperation with The Norwegian SAR organization. The majority of their staff are volunteers, and that was taken into consideration when we developed the vessel. It requires training and several drivers are very experienced, but the user interface and handling for non-specialists have been a priority in the process.
