The English were playing bagpipes long before Scots or Irish and they were bought to the Islands by the Romans, so give us a break from the Irish baloney...
If only you people knew we brought the pipes with us when we arrived on these Islands many thousand years ago, few of us know, many feel they know, one day soon it will be known to all, have said before we are not Celts, we wear their cloak, have done for a long time to hide our real identity, yours Methuselah
Irish are Celtified Iberians, Celtic culture in general is Iberian. We in Georgia (Iberia) still use old forms of bagpipes, we have 2 bag pipes Chiponi and Gudastviri made with leather bag and horn and couple of Hornpipes without bags, we also have flutes called Salamuri. There are still many Iberian words in Irish, like Nana how they call their grandmothers, it's purely Georgian (Iberian) word for mother and sang by mothers in lullabies, we also have chants for Nana (Sumerians also had goddess Nana). also word "Siul" for walk, it's "Siarul" in Georgian and "UL" in Megrelian (west Georgian) and so on... Even their Name comes from Iberia - Hibernia (Hiberni means Iberians in plural in Georgian) Iver - Iuer to Ir or Eir. Irish and Georgians in general are very similar people, with characters, culture and history too
To Patrick Edward Murray; Sir,to answer your question about the pipes, the Scottish and Irish people are of common stock, our culture, customs, and music is so similar, it can be difficult to find a line that separates the two,at one time, there was a Gaelic kingdom called Dalrieada, that encompassed Western Scotland and Northern Ireland, those were Irish soldiers, playing Irish bagpipes, or as they are called in our culture(s), the war pipes. The bagpipes have been played in Ireland just as long as they have been played in Scotland. The Irish have a long history of piping. As a matter of fact, the winner of last year's World Pipe Band Championship was an Irish band, The Field Marshall Montgomery Pipes and Drums of Belfast, and not too long ago, The St.Lawrence O'Toole Pipes and Drums of Dublin took the top prize.
Funny how people think Orange Kilts represents the republic of Ireland, no actually it represents the Scots (Ulster) Irish and William the Orange. William the Orange sent protestant Scots to N.Ireland to establish protestant plantations, the Orange Kilts means British not Irish, it mean protestant not Catholic.
Actually the Kilts the Scots wear today are not the proper original Kilts/Kelts which are IRISH. The Kilts worn today by the Scots were designed for an English King named Gorge, the first English King to visit Scotland for a long long time who refused to wear the Scottish dress, this so called Kilt which the Scots wear today is actually a skirt. It is not at all like the original Kilt/Kelt/ which is IRISH. If you want to look up this there are Dutch Drawings and Illustrations of the IRISH Dress back in the 16th and 17th Centuries which show the wonderful and magnificent colours of the IRISH Dress which are the proper Kilts/ Kelts worn. These can be found in books if you care to look them up. yours Brian Boru

So many proud Irish. A country with.... The highest debt per head in the EU False economy Unnafordable housing Banks bailed out twice in the previous two decades, with help from the UK. Sent letters of condolence to the Nazi regime. Rising immigration problem Volatile single currency worth less than $1 Now ruled by Brussels instead of the UK Owned by the EU, similar to Greece and Italy...only with a higher debt per head. There's a lot to be proud of.
History. Culture. Food. Drink. Landscape. Conservation. Exportation of brainpower and remarkable people. Family. Music. There's quite some to be proud of mochara 💚
@@SirReginaldBumquistIII The same can be said for any developed country. However......it doesn't pay your bills, buy you a house, help with GP fees, or reduce the debt, or sort your immigration problems. 🙄 Just gloss over the WW2 history bit, like it never happened.
@@Drifty40 so I should find comparabke comments of yours under other videos relating to countries around the world? Or your only interested in knocking Ireland?
@@Drifty40 in fact from what I can glean from your comments, youv a real problem with people wanting to be Irish. A conversation isn't really warranted based on what I see.
@@SirReginaldBumquistIII Merely repaying the compliments the Irish pay to the UK. Seems it touches a nerve, when anything factual or non positive, is directed at Ireland. I assume you've read some of the vile, derogatory, poisonous, bigoted, sectarian comments from some "Irish" on the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II.
In response to Mr Hartnetts comment on the bagpipes, sir,the Scots and Irish warpipes, are the same, the Irishman is our brother, our people are of common stock
If you want a laugh, look up Wikipedia regarding Scots gaelic and Irish gaelic, they state they are compleatly diffrent languages when in actual fact they are not, somebody has fed them bullshit,or mabe it suits Wikipedia to feed such bullshit,of course the Scots are our brothers.
2021! I know I can "NOT" But "I" Would SO Love to have the Pipe Band before my "CREMATION" Before the Flames reduce me to nothing more than ASH! 7/18/2021.
I wish people would stop saying the Romans brought the pipes to Britain and Ireland... Countless ancient Irish references specifically mention bagpipes long before the Romans got to Britain. A wide range of horns, and pipe instruments have been dug out of bogs from the bronze age, and the oldest set of pipes ever found were found in Wicklow Ireland and date from 4000 years ago! Ok no bag survived, but they fit into something organic which had deteriorated.... So we in Ireland, and Britain didn't need the Romans to tell us about the bagpipes... any eegit could figure out adding a bag will give you longer playing time with a reservoir of air...we always had them, and the over-and-back from Scotland to Ireland is also going on since the Ice age, so its ridiculous for either country to suggest 'we' brought them. Pipes of all types (with or without bags) evolved in many places independently of each other from stone-age bone flutes, - so please stop the Roman myth, and Irish-Scots who's first stupidity, trying to sound educated..... Thanks! ;)
