@@BeyProductionCZ I didn't had problems with the crash bars. I installed them to the brand new bike as well. The pedal was bent due crashes / falls. Cheers I.
I have a 2021 desert sled and the abs is split, you can shut of the rear only. It’s been a fantastic bike, no issues thus far with 4k miles on it. Looks wise the desert sled has it beat, in my opinion. I was looking for that Evotech shift lever for my bike but it says it only fits up to a 2019, wondering if it will work on the 2021 models.
hello im from korea, owner of ducati scrambler classic 2015. is that worth it rexxer ecu tunning?? Im really wonder... beacause in korea, nobody tune ecu!!! 2015 scrambler throttle is very sensitive and so much torqueful.. so im just curious that rexxer tunning is solve the problem.
Bought a Desert Sled in 2020. Put some miles on it - fell a couple of times - my fault, of course. Having ridden in the dirt on a few bikes I had a 21" rim laced to the hub. The "drop into a hole" effect was much reduced, but the weight being higher degraded the effect. I slid the fork tubes up further into the head and crown -keeping fork adjusters a quarter inch from the instrument and bracket brought the front end down almost 2 inches. That got rid of the excess height effect and restored the ability to put both feet on the ground. Enjoyed your presentation. It took a while to be comfortable with the single guage and computer controls but now I can go from ABS on to ABS off easily. Having to stop to do it is probably a safety feature, so I won't complain too loudly. Oh - I'm much more at ease knowing how far the fuel in the tank will take me than how far I've been. That being stated, one can only access that information if ABS is ON. S o o o o . . . meh. Thanks again.
Very nice review, I was looking for a scrambler with benefits as the Ducati, but unfortunately just found out it went out of production. As I presently have a T7 and a Tuareg I was going to swap the T7 for a Ducati
In my opinion, I would say the Sled. The passenger portion of the seat is wider and has more cushion than the T7. The passenger can hold on to the back portion of the frame on both sides under the seat on the Sled.
I got a little Honda CRF300L and my friend has a T7. It is top heavy and a nightmare to pickup in rough terrain. I was looking at the Desert Sled for looks, but what turned me off was the desmo valve engine. How often did you do the valve clearence check in 15000km and isn't it weird that you have to dissasamble the exhaust pipe in order to change the engine oil?
Hi Indrek. Are those the original DS mirrors with some sort of clamps attaching them? I'd like to do something similar, but so far have not found anything that would work.
In another video you stated the Scrambler was being sold and the T7 was its replacement. I had the T7 and sold it because it was way too top heavy for my liking. What's your reason for T7 over the Scrambler? Which one has better suspension?
The Scrambler Desert Sled suspension is far batter than the T7 suspension. I bought the Desert Sled version because the suspension alone is worth the price difference. The other reviewers that bought T7 have spent $3000 USD in suspension mods to make the bike tolerable off road. The weight difference between the the T7 and Scrambler is huge.
Hi! Thanks for your video! I saw almost all of your video and now dare to ask a question. I am an owner of DUCATI Multistrada 950s. It was my first season. I use my bike to go to my job and for my trips. If we will talk about asphalt trips - there is now opponents for that bike. But if want to move through the gravel or summer dry dirty roads - its a big problem for me coz Multistrada is hardly operable because of their inflated center of gravity and heavy weight. I decided to change Multistrada to Scrambler Desert Sled. But I am confused with two things: 1) is it problem to travel with Desert Sled for big distance on asphalt roads? What do you think about it? My average speed always about 40-45 mph. 2) is it problem to take a luggage for long distance travel on Desert Sled?
For sure, it's a compromise. DS can cruise effortlessly for long distances. The main question is can you cope with a naked (adv.) bike? It will be windy. I suggest installing proper handguards and heated grips and getting good riding gear. I'm in northern Europe. Most of our trips require 2+h of commuting on the tarmac. I usually put on an extra upper layer (down jacket). To me, aesthetics/looks are essential, and installing a windscreen wasn't an option do the looks. So an extra layer it is. 45-55mph (70-90kph) is fine. No vibrations. 80+mph (130kph) is the max cruising speed (but it's not nice anymore). Usually, our trips are 4-10 days long, and we ride 300-500km (200 - 300 miles) every day. Last year's longest trip was to Norway, about 3200km (2000 miles). Ergonomically speaking, DS was able to chug along without issues. The fuel range is the most annoying issue with long-distance traveling with DS. You need to refuel every 200-220km (130-140miles). Extra jerrycan (Rotopax) helps to mitigate that. Luggage-wise - I use a rear rack for Rotopax and 18L or 35L bag. And side panniers/saddle bags. I'm pleased with Kriega Duo 28 saddle bags. They match the bike's aesthetics nicely. See this video for my luggage setup and other mods: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FedpWqJRWGw.html Also, these have more my thoughts on DS: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pOUQ_wyk6vU.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yoVUmEFj1Os.html Cheers! i.
Why not Desert X? It can do traveling and off-road and ducati :) To me Desert X was too expensive and too new and too heavy, so I switched to Yamaha Tenere 700 (and this year I plan to get Honda CRF300L for the second bike).
@@IndrekIlves I have thought about it and few days ago saw Desert X in dealer’s show room. For me the big problem of that bike - it is too high and too Heavy ( A lot of people advise me crf300. It’s a good bike. But its very expensive for his advantages )))) I don’t travel on places where are no roads. So, for that purposes Multistrada is ok. But I just want most light bike.
Noup. In this video, in 2021, I used Continental TKC 80's. Later, in 2022, I used Motoz Tractionator Rallz. I prefer the later ones, yes much more noisy - but a lot better grip on non-paved surfaces.
Really enjoying your videos and am now a subscriber to your channel. I am in Southern Oregon in the United States and really appreciate the riding videos that show what riding is like in your country. PS…what is the song in the background?
I have this exact bike and year. Because my legs are short (29" inseam), when I am an the bike and try to use my left heel to kick up the kickstand, many times I cannot find it with my heel, so I must kick 4 or 5 times before making contact. {The kickstand is hidden below the left foot peg. } To solve this problem, my friend welded a 3 inch metal piece at a (approx.) 90 degrees off the kickstand. Now I have no problem finding the kickstand with my left heel. When the kickstand is up, the new metal piece does NOT interfere with anything.
I tried small windshield - didn't liked it. It didn't help much and it didn't look that good. Bigger windshield wasn't an option for me - too goofy, DS is a naked adv.bike, naked bikes and big screens doesn't rime on my vocabulary. Here are more thoughts on DS mods incl. showing that windshield I used: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FedpWqJRWGw.html
How are you liking your Tenerife over the desert sled so far. I’m thinking about trading my DS for the 2024 Tenere 700 only because the service is so expensive on the DS
Noup. I added these PowerMadd mirrors myself. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E62MUYM?ie=UTF8&psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=jakesnake-20&linkId=81124cd9eea28516bc65625f8cf6ce74&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl However, now I want to try out the Rottweiler Performance mirrors www.rally-motor.nl/epages/83531796.mobile/nl_NL/?ObjectPath=/Shops/83531796/Products/ROTTQFMM Note: these are EU version, there's US (better) version also available, look for Rottweiler mirrors
Love this comparison. Your right to say the Ducati is a naked adventure bike, for someone who doesn’t do to technical stuff the Ducati should be good good enough. Both are dream bike I will one day own, if I need a more off road bike I would go with a dual sport like the crf 300 rally.
Hi! These are Protaper EVO Adventure handlebars. Normal bend, not the high one. Here's list of all my mods to DS: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FedpWqJRWGw.html Cheers i.
Great wideo! I have "stange" question - on end of wideo, I saw that you use your rear brake and lock rear wheel - how did you disable ABS system? Because as far as I know, in those new ducati scramblers, there isn't option to disable it in menu
This is two step process: A. Set riding mode to "Off-road" B. Now you have new menu option about ABS, it allows to turn it off. Happy skids!! Note: This will disable the ABS both from the front and back wheels.
I love love love that you did this video. I was wondering how these two bikes compare for so long now. I personally prefer the Desert Sled. Looks are very important to me, but performance is as well. If I spend that much money on something I want it to look good and work well. However, the T7 doesn't look bad, just a bit worse than the DS. I plan on doing stuff like the TET and other traveling on it. Honestly the small tank on the DS seems like a problem. I am used to a bike with 20l tank and for the T7 you can get a 23l Acerbis tank, but for the DS you have to carry an extra jug of fuel which is annoying when traveling and you already have luggage. I guess the T7 is just way more practical all round, but the DS has more character and looks nicer. For commuting and riding around for fun within 200km of home the DS is probably the better choice. For traveling around the world the T7 is probably the better choice.
