Alex has played drums with renowned artists such as Rhapsody, Sieges Even, Avantasia, Angra, Kamelot, Blind Guardian, Blinde Gardinen, and many more. He has recorded numerous albums and toured all over the world.
“When I’m not on tour or in the studio, my passion is teaching double-bass classes at drummer’s focus,” Alex says. “It’s incredibly inspiring for me to work with talented drummers and help them discover the ‘Butterfly Technique,’ which is just one element of the ‘Double-Bass-First’ workout concept I’ve been developing over the past 20 years. This concept is designed to tackle modern drumming challenges and enable drummers to play even better than programmed drums. We beat the machines! How great is that?”
Hey Alex, loving your content! Your experience and passion for drumming really shine through. Have you ever thought about taking your teaching skills online and reaching a global audience? With your expertise, you could build an abundant online business teaching drums to students worldwide, beyond Munich. If you're interested, I'd love to chat and explore how you could expand into the online space. Keep up the awesome work!
Nice to hear a more musical approach, not just mechanical as we metal drummers tend to focus on. Loving your setup, hope we can hear some from it in the future! God bless you, Alex.
I'm a big fan of Alex since the Angra's 'Angel's Cry' album. His drumming hugely affects power metal scene, aside with Ingo Schwichtenberg. I hope I can see his drumming live soon again! - 🤘from 🇰🇷
Ha! I knew it! Mr. Holzwarth was having way too much fun to stop at just one drum playthrough. Thank you for this one, really killing it with your recent uploads. God bless you, Alex!
3:33 hihats moving and hihats pedal sound coming and then hihat pedal sound still coming but hihats don't move? Is this the magic of the Alex Holzwarth ;)
These tips are pure gold coming from the man himself! Your fast bass drumming in Rhapsody (no fire back then) really left a mark in my own way to look at drums. One of these days I will be able to finally play one of your tracks! Thank you for all these years of amazing drumming. God bless you, Alex.
