This channel was originally created to enter some local underwater videography competitions. Then, it became a place for me to host some of my larger underwater videos via social media.
In July of 2021, my husband was on a mission to increase the views of my videos and support my work. He recognized my desire to share my adventures with others. To expose people to locations they may not know exist or may not have an opportunity to experience. Therefore, he challenged me to produce videos for each country in the world. I accepted the challenge! I don’t know if I will get to all 190 countries, but I can promise some extras along the way, like various states in the U.S. and territories throughout the world. The goal is to inspire others to get out and experience the world and other cultures. I hope to show you locations on land and underwater that may be new to you, and provide suggestions as you plan your own travels. Join me in this journey and let’s see where it takes us!
Hi! We were there in December. I did not try the vegan options. Sorry. I can tell you the food I tried was good, so hopefully the vegan options would be too. 🤞
We actually did go straight from the airport. We had a fairly short flight from Baltimore and got in quite early getting to the Blue Lagoon near opening time. There was a plus, it was not crowded for most of the time we were there as we were leaving there were long lines coming in. Checking luggage and getting on the right bus back to Reykjavik were a bit of a hassle though. Detours due to the volcanic activity did give everyone some nap time though Not many private showers in the men's locker room as info, wasn't a big deal. The whole facility is top notch. As info, flybus is not a well oil machined nothing is ever quite on time but usually gets the job done at some point.
Thank you! I am glad you found it informative. I can’t quite remember the cost. I am guessing around 15 Krona. You can download the Taxi Hreyfill app, and it will give you the price for your starting point to Sky Lagoon. The app is a great way to see the costs and order taxis. You can even schedule a taxi in advance. We scheduled our taxis the night before sometimes.
That was an amazing video. Great narration with your personal perspective. I love that you took us along on your journey to a place many of us will never visit. Thank you.
Make sure you check the status of the roads. Sometimes you will have road closures due to mud that time of year. I hope you have a great trip! The temperature should be a lot more enjoyable then.
Lol..I just saw your thumbnail on my recommended list and one of the pics immediately caught my eye....I took the exact same pic of that beautiful twisted old dead tree at Mesquite Dunes.. That strangely beautiful, melancholy invoking tree in the foreground, with the beautiful dunes behind, and the distant soaring striped mountains surrounding the Valley perfectly captures the essence of Death Valley. I assume you felt close to the same way...I actually took several from different angles and my favorite is a 1-1 ratio that I took in black and white....the thing looks like an Ansel Adams postcard....lol.
Yes! You’re right! There was something strangely beautiful about it. It looked like driftwood in the desert. Similar to driftwood on a beach. I can see how your shots in black and white would resemble shots by Ansel Adams. Thank you for checking out my channel and connecting!
Enjoying the video so far but a complete corrections. Yes it’s $30 to get in the park but it covers up to 7 days not $30 per day. Also the toilets aren’t called primitive toilets their called pit and are very common in most outdoor or wilderness places. The reason being many of these places are of course remote and there is no sewer or plumbing. They don’t always smell great but you’re always grateful for them when you really have to go! Cheers
Great video. You hit the best features and experiences readily available to the average tourist. As of late 2023, only highway 190 is open to vehicular travel both to and from the Furnace Creek area. Ubeeheebee and the road to it from Highway 190 are completely closed, as is the farther road to The Racetrack. Almost all of the secondary dirt or gravel roads within the park are closed, as well.
They were supposed to put down another circle of statues, but I have not heard anything about the second phase since the original installation. They added one statue in 2021, since the original installation.
It really depends on how much and what you want to see. I wouldn’t plan to see the whole island, but focus on one or two regions. There is so much to see and experience. I think you will enjoy your trip regardless!
When I went I got a 3rd reason for the island name. What they told me was that most sailors of that date, didn’t know the location of that island, and pirates 🏴☠️ would use the island to keep their treasures, until on day when they spotted boats coming for their bounties, the pirates 🏴☠️ left in a hurry, and in order to obtain more speed from their boats, they keep the gold and jewels 💎 but dumped all their silver over board. (No one has found all that silver.)
