These parents have looked like newbies since the first chick arrived. They've looked confused about what to do and were not shading the chicks or feeding them regularly. We have plenty of fish at the refuge (our other osprey nests are doing well), so I suspect the parents are just not up to the job unfortunately.
You should change the view on the one cam to the ground level pond area like you did last year. Could maybe get a glimpse of the little one down there. Grateful to have witnessed this this year and thanks again for providing these views of nature. ❤
Omg, it already looks so cute!!! I really hope all goes well and we can watch this little grow. Mama seems to be a great protector and Dad is a great provider! I was watching last night, dad just brought a meal and flew off, then him and mama were talking to each other for a while after. So awesome to see this live! Thank you Blackwater and friends!
Do you have barn owls in the vicinity? I could be completely wrong, but when I zoomed in and slowed the play speed, it looked like the same coloring and shape of a barn owl.
This is amazing! I have literally been watching them "visit" for the last four years. Same time every year. Just checked in and seeing this makes my heart full 😊
