Allen Damron music brings me back to being a very young man dating my girlfriend (wife of 40 pls years). Seeing Allen at Lock Stock & Barrel on Anderson Ln.,Austin TX. Those were really good times singing Nancy Whiskey with everyone in the bar. .
Yeah, really cool band! I found this cassette at a thrift store and couldn't find any info on them at all. I'm glad your enjoying it. Hopefully the band members will reach out. These guys were good enough to be on a major label.
Drew.....thank you so much for posting this album. This is my mother ;) I'm so curious what prompted you to post this album? I've been wishing I had some of her songs digitally and this pops up. Mind blown ;)
I'm so glad you found it! Your mother is so talented and her voice and energy speaks to me in a spiritual way. I've never met her or known anything about her. I discovered this album at a thrift store in San Antonio. I search out hidden gems, albums "lost to time" (at least in my mind) and I have a passion to share them with the "online universe" in hopes that someone like yourself will enjoy them. Thank you and take care. Enjoy!
Wow this is my mom!!! I haven’t been able to hear this in so long because I can’t afford a cord player rn… thank you so much for loading this up to you tube ❤
He was a fantastic Man and a friend and "Uncle Allen" to me and my Family always found joy in all that he did and the unique gifts he gave everyone and remember He is the one that sends the balloons!!
When I heard this wonderful song for the first time, I immediately fell in love with the beautiful fairy of German pop. Now, more than 30 years later, I am still convinced that nothing else brought us this treasure down to earth than a hole in heaven …
Allen always talked about how the hurricane went through his home town of Raymondville and wiped out the whole town… did twenty-seven dollars and thirty-two cents worth of damage.
This is the definitive recording of Find Us Ready!! thank you, you've got the spirit and rhythm for this one. Other online recordings are passionless milk toast. Your version here is stuck in my brain~ that's a good thing!
I love this cd. I used to live in San Antonio and saw these guys often, still have a tie-dye shirt. Does ANYONE know how can I obtain a copy of this recording?
I learned the song from Alan Damron while touring with Gene Medlar and David Ruthstrom. Some of the best times of my life. The Iron tender in El Paso was where I first heard him do it. Good memories
