You can also use the rig pin hole in the linkage marked "R" and the throttle lever detent to get the same results, but the video method saves hunting a drill bit or wire.
GM lynn RE- did this now mower bogs down when blades are on, but runs fare when off ? what are next steps to check / and by the way you boys make great music thanks james
I have a craftsman YT3000 mower and sometimes the mower will crank all the way up on choke but sometimes it wont crank unless I have it all the way down on low throttle. Im thinking its something to do with the throttle cable.. do you have any advice? Im assuming I just need to pull the cable all the way back as you've shown and then tighten the nut (all while the choke is all the way up)? Correct me if Im wrong or if you have any advice. Thank you
Question, I just installed a new carburetor on my YT 3000 craftsman tractor and now it’s starting to race as soon as I start it it’s in cutting gear so I did what you said and it still does it any suggestings the carburetor was supposedly the new carburetor was supposedly factory reset and the title is moving in does it go into the choke position but it races like heck and I have no control over slowing it down by the throttle but yet the title is moving correctly
@@rogerthat.9105Make Sure Your Linkage Is Installed Correctly & Not Binding, Find A B&S Repair Manuel That Covers Your Model , Static Governor Adjustment, RU-vid Is Great But Sometimes Will Get You Into More Trouble. From Manuel: Governor Adjustments A complete governor system adjustment includes a static adjustment, engine warm-up, idle and/or governed idle adjustment, and top noload adjustment. Be sure to complete all steps. Static Adjustment 1. Loosen screw holding governor lever to governor crank 2. Rotate throttle linkage from idle position to wide open throttle. Note direction of rotation of the governor arm attached to the throttle linkage. 3. While holding linkage at wide open throttle, use the appropriate tool to rotate the governor shaft until it stops in the direction noted in Step 2. 4. Tighten screw holding governor lever to governor crank per Section 12 - Engine Specifications. 5. Before starting engine, manually actuate throttle linkage to check for binding
Great video thanks. Mine had a black plastic pull tab and a bolt keeping the white slider from going all the way back to choke. The bolt had a (r) beside it. Just in case some1 else encounters that.
To the point, clear instruction, and fixed my new to me Simplicity's issue with 2 or 3 five second cranks to get it running. Thank you! Now with actual full choke she hits within a second.
THANK YOU MR. FOX, I ADJUSTED THE THROTTLE CABLE EXACTLY THE WAY YOU ILUSTRADED IN YOUR VIDEO, HOWEVER MY 17.5 BRIGGS & STRANTTON STILL THE RPM WANTS TO RUN AWAY ( MUCH HIGHER RPM THAN NORMAL AND EVEN IF I BRING THE TROTTLE CABLE BACK TO SLOW RPM AND IT CONTINUE TO STAY AT HIGH RPM. COULD IT BE THE INTERNAL ECENTRIC THORTTLE MECHANICEM MIGHT HAVE GONE BAD. IF YOU MAY KNOW IT WILL BE APRECIATED OTHER WISE THANK YOU FOR THE ILUSTRADE VIDEO DOMINGO
ok removed stop screw now choke works thanks for below /// now bogs down when blades are engaged then keep bogging after till throttle is lowered ? but will drive well with out blades
lynn i have a 19hp brings had a 19 kholer throttle arm wont go all the way up to hit choke ,,, cable is fine runs ruff.. could be a wire issue ? ref wires have a troy built to Briggs is there some thing i should change on this mower ?
I recently resplaced the carburator on my Troy Bilt mower. It ran fine for a couple mows, but now it won't start. I think that the problem is the throttle. It will start but then die right after. I got it to run for a few minutes but it was struggling and died after only maybe five minutes. I don't know if it is even worth trying to fix anymore. It doesn't help that I don't know what I'm doing.
Great video, thank you. I followed your instructions to connect the throttle cable after swapping engines on my riding lawn mower. After tightening the cable clamp and checking the throttle control, the control lever does not travel to the idle position as indicated on the tractor, even though the white plastic part appears to be in the correct idle position at the engine. Any suggestions?
