Hi Eddie - new subscriber here. I tried to tackle the 5 string back in the 1980's. After two or three years, I gave up and went back to my old bass guitar, which is a million times easier to play (just my opinion ha!) Anyway, what is the name of the cool song that is at the outset of this video? I am looking forward to mastering the banjo - to some extent or other. Thanks for your hard work.
Eddie, this was such a great video. I've joined a jam in my current work town (Chicagoland) but I'd like to start up a jam in my small hometown when I move back there. Any tips on starting one?
Greetings from 🇳🇴 Thanks for good inspiration. Picked up my first banjo in June and really enjoying the process of learning the basics. It was a bit confusing with the fifth string, but now I’m beginning to get the hang of it. Compared with the guitar and the mandolin it was strange using the thumb on the high notes on the fifth string. If you know what I mean. 😊 Thanks again. 😊
Damit Boy! That was so good. If they'd heard this there would have been banjo on the original recording. Also, I've never seen banjo instruction done so easily making it easy. Excellent!
my instructor has me swinging everything currently, so this explanation of syncopation with everything on a steady beat will hopefully put me ahead of the game. Love your videos
is there any chance the banjo may have influenced rag time piano music, considering the banjo was in use before piano players came on the scene .....there no question boogey woogey influenced bluegrass ....or oldtime ....is there any research on banjo music before ragtime or boogie woogie.
Thanks for your great learning material, I am still learning Bluegrass guitar with your wonderful book "ASAP Bluegrass Guitar". I can only recommend it to everyone who seriously wants to start learning bluegrass. I would much appreciate a second volume 🙂
Wow! I could just listen to this the way anyone would listen to a great recording. But I forget - I have a banjo on my lap and need to start picking!!! Thanks for this master-work of cool blues licks!
